AMD today released the latest version of the AMD Software Adrenalin Edition drivers. Version 24.5.1 WHQL comes with optimization for Ghost of Tsushima Director's Cut, Senua's Saga: Hellblade II, and F1 24. AMD added HYPR-Tune support for Ghost of Tsushima Director's Cut, Horizon Forbidden West Complete Edition, Starfield, and The Last of Us Part I. AMD also says that these drivers offer optimal support for AI acceleration on Radeon 7000 series RDNA 3 graphics cards.

Among the issues fixed with this release include an intermittent driver timeout or crash observed when playing World of Warcraft or World of Warcraft Classic on RDNA 3 GPUs; a similar issue with Overwatch 2 on Radeon RX 5000 series GPUs; an intermittent stutter after alt+tab with performance metrics overlay enabled; and corruption with certain water elements when playing Alan Wake 2 with Radeon Boost enabled.

The AI revolution has begun. Thanks AMD, I doubt I'll ever use it, great to know its there if I ever got creative. However, what is interesting...its that HYPR-RX feature. That is one helluva boost in performance.

These perf increases are from AMD's framegen & upscaling solutions combined. These features like AFMF and RSR have been here in the driver settings before so nothing new.

Have not updated driver since November 2023. There any reason to?

Where exactly? :D Would be more helpful if you also post AMD driver link at least if you are not gonna remove these.

@Kabouter Plop they fixed your WoW issue I think

Yeah to early to say probably just improvements, already user reports of crashing after 30 minutes, i doubt its gonna be easy fix in my case it just freezes and is much more rare then what other users report, unless i grab my 6900 XT then i freeze daily, which is why i given up it usually takes a couple of days to manifest for some users, its annoying to reproduce because its simply random.

if you don't have a game or a fix that requires the newest drivers stick to what you are using.

Why is the Display tab under Gaming, and not like Audio & Video under Settings?

Ghost of Tsushima running great for me with these drivers.

3440x1440
Native
Very High
HBAO+

yep these drivers have been great on my end, i was playing marvels guardians of the galaxy last night, damn it looked good.

No optimisations for Homeworld 3? Dang.

That just means we might get 2 drivers this month they haven't done that in a while :D

Will not be bad. But I think they have to rethink the concept of Radeon Software user interface and make it flow in a more logic manner.
I mean Display could be under Gaming only if they mean that the gamers' first priority should be to look at their displays and preferably upgrade.
Otherwise, Display must be under Settings, and this should be a central tab, not a leftover in the far right of the window.

Gaming -> Games is tautology, and should be remade.
The System tab should be renamed to General Information, and the left hand side part which includes updates settings should be moved under Hardware & Drivers.
Reset Game stats should be moved to Gaming.

Who thinks about these things? It is a chaos out there.

No my friend...it says AI now tho! Its new! Bling Bling babbbbyyyy.

Elden Ring consistently reproducing driver timeouts in 10-20 minutes even 2 minutes having imgur active on unmuted section active in background, but playing The Last of us part 1 for 7 hours and 36 minutes while streaming in HDR is fine, game crashed at the
giraffe cutscene
no driver timeout tho.

Would post link to imgur unmuted section but techpowerup bugs out post.

you might want to look into possible RMA of your card or cpu or something. I honestly have had 0 issues and I have tested over 30 games since these drivers came out (stressing my system out since its new) and not had a single issue, and this is with a heavy OC (beats xtx stock in time spy graphics score).

All these issues are reproduceable by others stop telling me to RMA its pointless
Anyway a some of the recent bugs i encountered the Ghost of Tsushima is very similar except trigger is recording.

I don't understand then, because I have 0 issues, I even turned on ray tracing to max in WoW just to see if I could replicate your issue for that and nope, worked flawless for 45 minutes as I ran around / idled in a city

If it was that simple it would've been fixed by now, its the same as for example
  • Shader caching may fail for Windows usernames containing accented characters.
Not everyone experiences these issues, you still have overwatch 2 players these days experiencing stuttering during gameplay, i have had this for about 2 years until it became less annoying to play, i did have a weird work around for the stuttering.

so change your windows username to not contain an accented character? does this just mean italic? i don't understand.

I never had an accented user name, anyway that is a old note just to explain that bugs can be experienced by some not always by everyone, also user skill or motivation comes into play when you only get an RGB laser show when beating the game or playing bloody ties dlc first blood quest on drivers 24.2.1 and older, bug still happens 1 out of many tries on more recent drivers.
a bug anyone can trigger for example is Marvel guardians of the galaxy chapter 11 with RT on will crash i wont spoil when, you will find out yourself, but it happens at same time for everyone, this driver timeout is the kind an NVIDIA user would never notice, while still experiencing it if he went thru same type of driver timeout.

Jokes aside, I was referring to your part of the comment on the HYPR-RX feature, it doesn't introduce anything new when it comes to performance enhancing features.

I have been reading your posts for a while but today was the first day I read your specs. You have 4x8 GB installed. It is pretty much common knowledge that you have the least problems with 2 sticks of DRAM. That could be why you are having so many gremlins that others are not. We all pretty much all have the same specs with some of us on AM5 but the fact that your issue persists points to something other than drivers.

Yes its common knowledge that as long you have 4x 8 gb single rank or 2x 16 gb dual rank you be fine, i have tested my memory sticks for months suspecting issues and never found any errors, well i did in the past but i fixed that because 1 stick needed a good wipe with alcohol cloth, and yes this is when i started testing for weeks and months, i still do so these days without a single error.
