AMD just announced the "This is why we Game" Q2-2024 game bundle. With a qualifying AMD Radeon RX 7800 XT or RX 7700 XT graphics card from a participating retailer, you can choose any two free games from the following: Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, Starfield, Lies of P, and Company of Heroes 3. The bundle campaign period is from today (June 11), till July 20, 2024. You'll need to purchase a qualifying graphics card within this campaign period to be eligible. Once you've selected your two free games, you can redeem them (add them to your DRM platform account) before August 17, 2024. The Bundle is open in all countries except a handful mentioned in the terms & conditions page. Customers in Japan can only redeem one among the four games.

Hahaha well you just caught AMD's regular marketing success in a nutshell right here. Starfield, that game they marketed heavily and without FSR3 on launch. And when they did add it, everyone had moved on because the game was so shit.

Spacebourne 2 is what Starfield should have been but the other 3 Games are fun if not a little old. Avatar is a great Game but it is super easy to get lost. COH3 is COH in Gameplay but the Campaign seems broken and abruptly short for the size of the map. I was interested in Life of PI but I am confident that will come one day on Humble Choice. The last thing is that GPUs are just too expensive right now. If you got all 4 Games it would be more attractive though.

Even though Starfield was marketed so was CP2077 and right now Star Wars Outlaws is trying to use Star Wars to get Intel sales. I think the pricing of parts will start to come down as invenotry does not move as quickly as all of them thought in the DIY space.

That’s a tad harsh. Quake is old. Ultima VII is old. Descent is old. Games that came out last year are not old, they are, in fact, with how modern releases are, probably are just now coming to a point where they are actually complete and stable.

I ask to those who are english native tongue: is "to game" even a verb? Or is one of those "fifty-years-old-trying-to-seem-fifteen" way of speak?

There have been so many good releases in the last few months that Avatar seems old to me but you are 100% right. I know what you mean though everyone should do what BG3 and Everspace2 did, give what others release as Early Access and once you have given the community what it wants release it.

Yeah I'm sure they are but honestly... I have never, like not once, even remotely considered buying a graphics card now because games are bundled with it. Any games whatsoever. I mean, how many of these were you really actually going to play but haven't yet a year past release?

That's what I mean. This is AMD's marketing move, it doesn't make any sense. Sure, you get a news post and some minor subgroup might just buy a GPU out of it now, but other than that? This isn't really 'value', let's be honest.

old'ish games, old'ish cards.<yawn> And none of those games are worth the effort.

So this after the nonsense 1st party benchmarks AMD did with the new 5800/5900XT CPU's against a 13600k, where they hobbled the perf of the 13600 by using a Radeon 6600. Basically straight-up, bare faced lying. Did AMD not think people wouldn't fc*king notice like...

As usual in Greece this bundle will be available only in 2-3 shops that will be selling the cards 100-150 euros higher than the other shops.

Yeah "to game" can be used like that just fine. The whole "this is why we game" slogan is a bit grandiose, but grammatically fine. You used to say you play games, but now you can just say you game.

No thanks. I'd rather they just gave a rebate for the card over any of those games.

On Steam, these are the retail prices for these games right now:
Starfield = $69.99
CoH3 = $59.99
Lies of P = $59.99

On EGS:
Avatar = $69.99

I'd be willing to take a $65 rebate on a $400 7700XT or an a $500 7800XT over getting a digital copy of a game I'm not interested in.

After taxes and rebate I'd only have paid:
7700XT = $364.40
7800XT = $471.75

If I was on the fence about a card, something like that would be more enticing over a video game. End up with a 7800 XT for under $500 after taxes + rebate. Makes that 4070 Super look like a really bad deal.

AMD at this point is probably paying 5 to $10 per game key. Potentially less.

The highest profile game in that lineup is Starfield and that game has been sold for 10 dollars before.

The reason why AMD does these game bundles is to replace price drops and rebates because these game bundles are very cheap for AMD, particularly for old games like this. So forget a 65 dollar rebate, it would be more along the lines of a 10-20 dollars rebate.

Man, people are so bitter about everything nowadays.

If those games have been on your radar along with a new card, this bundle should be your jam.

If not, well you get some new games with your mid-range card.

There's not much to complain about considering that the cards are already a pretty good deal without these bundled games.

I played it to completion three times. I honestly liked it. I have to admit though that part of why I liked it and so many didn't is because you need a very strong gaming CPU to get good frame rates regardless of what card you have. My R7-5800X3D is pretty much the bare minimum to always stay above 60FPS.
Its inventory clearing time! New cards incoming.
It's been inventory-clearing-time for awhile now because a lot of the RX 6000 cards are still available as new.
I ask to those who are english native tongue: is "to game" even a verb? Or is one of those "fifty-years-old-trying-to-seem-fifteen" way of speak?
Yes, it's perfectly fine. Any word that ends with "ing" starts with a word that is a vowel or can be used as one (to game = gaming, to swim = swimming, etc.). Hell, we even have "to google" in our lexicon now.
Man, people are so bitter about everything nowadays.
Ain't that the truth...
If those games have been on your radar along with a new card, this bundle should be your jam.
Whiners gonna whine....
If not, well you get some new games with your mid-range card.
I agree. It's like I said, those cards are a pretty good deal as it is without the games. The free games are just gravy and yet, you still get the whiners complaining about it.

Let them pay more for GeForce cards without bundled games. Then they'll be happier because they'll have a real reason to complain.

Some people just never grow up I guess... :laugh:

It's inventory clearing for sure. Particularly, the RX 76... *caugh caugh* RX 7700XT, that is being placed in a strange place. The card has unimpressive performace. AMD knows the card is unattractive "upseller" for 7800XT. The entire RDNA3 lineup is going to be EOL soon, but they still hold it's MSRP way above what it should be. Becuse it's their "precious".

Whataever people say, RX7700XT shout be $350 max, for the superior AIB version. There's no way this card can be sold at more, considering it's age, and performance. The same goes for entire AMD and nVidia stacks.
As usual in Greece this bundle will be available only in 2-3 shops that will be selling the cards 100-150 euros higher than the other shops.
You're not alone, Sir. To rub the wound, in addition to the very few, or often single shop selling it with a coupon, some of them manage, to not only sell the bundle almost twice above MSRP, but not provide any warranty at all. And the official AMD distributors are usually as scammy as these resellers.
I'd be willing to take a $65 rebate on a $400 7700XT or an a $500 7800XT over getting a digital copy of a game I'm not interested in.
I'd be too. But the thing is, these cards should have been already cheaper by these very $65 from the start, regardless of the bundle. The game price is not an issue for these companies, since they most likely got the very appealing deals already.

A RX 7800XT that is barely higher in performance than a 6800XT that was launched 3+ years ago.

The 7700XT uses more power than a 6800 and is not a better overall performer over the older generation.

Games I do not care about as do I actually own the games and can play off line? I'm not interested in Renting games.

The prices will come down and trying to clear overhead?? Heh... I'll wait and see.

This is not a helpful post but.. the name of this promotion makes me cringe for some reason. I never use that term.

I guess if you are in the US these are not bad. The issue for me is where I live the 7800XT is anywhere from $649 to $799 and the 7700Xt is like $600 to $700. That is why I don't like this. I remember when a card for $249 would attract you with this. We need all cards to come down in price this is ridiculous. I agree with the other post that there should have been an option for a rebate.

only one good game(Lies of P), and three mids.

c'mon AMD, I love you guys but find a better game to bundle.
They should've bundled Talos Principle 2 with DLC or Yellow Taxi Goes Vroom, Another Crab's Treasure, It won't fully utilize the potential RX 7900 XTX but they're good games.

Obviously, AMD should have done was survey all of the 37.4 million TPU forum members to obtain a concise and accurate indication of exactly which four games to make eligible for this offer. I mean, what were they thinking?

Another 'L' on AMD's permanent record.
