Video Card(s) TOXIC AMD Radeon™ RX 6900 XT Limited Edition

is there anybody use sapphire's amd gpu?

The graphics card I normally use is TOXIC AMD Radeon™ RX 6900 XT Limited Edition of sapphire. In the process of using it,
I usually prefer to use the overclocking tool trixx provided by sapphire to perform toxic boost overclocking,
because it can give full play to the performance of the graphics card better than the overclocking provided by amd driver.

Overclocking with trixx causes Windows to restart the PC when running under low load

As long as I play the game normally (overclocking with trixx), the stability issues that occur with overclocking do not occur.
However, if the computer does nothing at this time, then there is a high probability that the computer will restart
and restore the overclock configuration from the trixx and amd drivers after the restart.

According to AMD-driven feedback:

General
Default performance tuning settings have been restored due to an unexpected system failure.

Trixx's toxic boost is also closed

In almost all adrenalin drives, this problem is prone to occur. Previously I used the driver provided by amd hip sdk 5.7.1: AMD-Software-PRO-Edition-23.Q4-Win10-Win11-For-HIP.exe, and this problem never occurred, but now I update amd hip sdk to 6.1.2. The graphics driver provided by this version is: AMD-Software-PRO-Edition-24.Q3-Win10-Win11-For-HIP.exe, which is as easy as adrenalin's main latest driver to cause accidental restart of the computer under low load.

This are the drivers you need for your card:

Use this BEFORE installing the new drivers, to clean your old drivers:

PS: love those Sapphire Toxic cards, i hope one day to buy one myself :)
Thanks for your reply, but as I mentioned in my post, all Adrenalin Edition drivers have this problem as well

I cleaned every time before installation, using msi's 1000W power supply
Report your issue through the AamD software and reach out to sapphire directly

I tried contacting sapphire but the feedback was not very positive and helpful. I emailed amd support last week and haven't received any reply yet

The same issue when undervolting the cpu using pbo2. Is there any way of adjusting the voltage when the gpu is in idle?
trixx有这种功能吗

我使用了手动pbo,目前看来trixx“激进”的显卡超频,和其他对gpu的设置会引起冲突

Speculating here a bit but what im thinking is that AMD solved an issue with the newer GPU driver. The issue being that the GPU would pull 35watt instead of 8watt when idle.

Causing the system to shutdown as the load for the PSU is too low. (i had the same random shutdown issue aswell, caused by too low load)

My Gigabyte B550 Aorus elite V2 has an option in the bios where you can set a dummy load for the PSU when power usage is very low, like in an idle state.

https://download.gigabyte.com/FileList/Manual/mb_manual_b550m-aorus-elite_e_1201.pdf :

"Power Loading
Enables or disables dummy load. When the power supply is at low load, a self-protection will activate causing it to shutdown or fail. If this occurs, please set to Enabled. Auto lets the BIOS automatically configure this setting. (Default: Auto)"

I suggest you look for a similar option in your motherboard's bios and see if that fixes your issue

Why Trixx, the Radeon software's OC panel is fine enough. At least I don't use anything else with my RX 6700 XT.

At first I thought it was a stable performance error caused by toxic overclocking,

but after toxic overclocking, I tried a variety of GPU stress tests, and there was no error or driver timeout error.

Almost every time I get an error, it's when the system is under low load.

I can't fix it. In short, driver timeouts or unexpected computer restarts during low load don't seriously affect me.

The reason I use toxic overclocking is because it delivers higher performance than driver control panel overclocking when allowed,

which you can check on saphire's website, and is also a feature of the 6900xt toxic limited graphics card.

By driving the control panel overclocking, the core frequency of the graphics card can be maintained at around 2580 mhz,

but by toxic overclocking, the core frequency can be increased to close to 2700 mhz.

At present, I guess this problem should be fixed, because I found the update of bios program on asus official website (the motherboard model I use is TUF GAMING B550M (WI-FI) ZAKU II EDITION),

asus tech released bios update No. 3610 in September (I don't remember clearly), and the update description mentioned that this update fixes the CPU crash error when the system is low load.

But!!! Asus tech withdrew the 3610 update shortly after and re-released the 3611 bios update on the first day of november (no changes to the update description).

I cant' really offer any help but from what I read around having a sapphire card myself, Trixx is trash
Never mind, we should make the most of what we have, right?

I used the Trixx software myself for several AMD reference cards but never the OC section since it's specific to Sapphire's own cards.

But I use their scaling which works really really well which was why I used it and I never had an issue with it so I can be the RX 6900 XT card that have an issue because not every GPU can run the same clock speeds with the same voltage.

Sorry if it's not much of any sort of help just my experience, I had RX 6800, RX 6800 XT and RX 7900 XT.

Thank you very much for your help, the issue seems to have been resolved since this post was posted last month,

as I explained in here. But I still hope that other players who use ASUS motherboards and Sapphire Toxic overclocking will notice this problem,

So what was the solution?
