Corsair at the 2025 CES showed off its latest power supply units. At CES, the company is debuting its 2025 RMe line of performance-segment PSUs. These meet the latest ATX 3.1 and PCIe 5.1 CEM standards, and offer Cybenetics Gold rated switching efficiency, along with Cybenetics A acoustic rating. The PSU uses a 120 mm fan, along with a zero RPM mode for most low-load situations. The 2025 RMe series comes in four variants based on wattage, the RM650e, RM750e, RM850e, and RM1000e. The 750 W, 850 W, and 1000 W models put out a 12V2x6 that's capable of 600 W continuous power delivery, while the 650 W model puts out a 450 W capable 12V2x6.

Next up, are updates to Corsair's enthusiast-segment HXi series. The new 2025 HXi series comes in two high-wattage models, the HX1200i, and the HX1500i. The HXi series in its 2025 refresh is updated with ATX 3.1 and PCIe 5.1 CEM compliance. These offer Cybenetics Platinum switching efficiency, and Cybenetics A acoustic rating. The 140 mm fan cooling these are programmed with a zero RPM mode. You can take control of its fan curve by connecting the PSU to a USB 2.0 header and using the Corsair iCUE software. Both the 1200 W and 1500 W models offer two 12V2x6 connectors, both of which are 600 W capable. The 2025 RMe series is available now, but the 2025 HXi series should be available some time in Q2 2025.

I really hate Corsair's new individually stranded cables. They're a nightmare to build with and they're ugly AF.

Corsair include an insufficient a tiny handful of cable combs (1x 24-pin, 1x12 pin for PCIe) but they are neither pre-installed nor are the cables arranged neatly out of the box, so it's extra effort to oragnise and put them on yourself - and if you've worked with individually-stranded cables before you know that's neither a pleasant nor a fast job to get right.

There was nothing wrong with the original sleeved cables, and if people want individually-stranded cables, they will likely want them neater, thicker, and prettier than these ugly, thin, cheap-looking ones that Corsair have started shipping :(

Wait, I am confused. The article says that Corsair showed the new RMe PSUs, but the photos show the RMx lineup. They are not the same.

Corsairs PSU line up is quite confusing.
whats so confusing? you have the
old RMe line
new RMe line
old RM line
new RM line
old RMx
new RMx
old RMx shift
new RMx shift
(there may actually be a third revise in there somewhere but hey by this point I'm sure most people are already lost)

the only line that could possibly be less confusing the Super Flower Leadex lineup/s

Just bought one more AX1600i before they have run out.
I wish they will keep this unit updated and going.

That's disappointing to hear. I was initially pleased to see that the in-line capacitors were gone. Routing the old cables was occasionally a wrestling match, but it sounds like the cure is worse than the disease.

Still, Corsair's my go-to for PSUs and will remain so for the foreseeable.

RMX, RM, RMe are my go-to purchases. They may not be the best PSUs but they're certainly not bad and Corsair has been one of the more transparent and standardised brands when it comes to modular cable compatibility with their Type 3, Type 4, Type 5 cables working across over a hundred different SKUs at this point.
