Classic RTS action meets modern production and performance in Tempest Rising. Inspired by RTS greats of the 90s and 2000s, Tempest Rising is a classic, base-building real time strategy game set in a modern day alternative history war scenario. It features 3 unique factions, each with its own approach to combat and economy and offering a variety of strategies for players of all stripes, deep and rewarding gameplay that keeps a focus on strategy while rewarding skill, and built-in customization options that allow players to approach the game their way in both single player and multiplayer game modes.

This demo will be available to everyone until February 3 and will allow you to experience our modern take on classic RTS multiplayer against other players around the world.

Looks and sounds very C&Cish. More precisely like a mix of Tiberium Wars and Generals.
Let's hope for the best.

While I'm happy for a release date and a demo since the journey from August 2022 has been tumultuous...

...my experience with this sale has also been:
  1. Steam Real-Time Strategy Fest is on!
  2. "Oh wow, a NextFest-like for my favourite genre! I should be able to find some hidden gems!"
  3. 4 of 5 Top Sellers are 3+ years old (1 of them is Dota2???) and Tower Defense everywhere
Genre is dead guys. RIP Westwood. Never forget, never forgive.

I'd honestly steer clear of this game and anything else 3D Realms/Slipgate is involved with.

They'll dump the game after a few months and leave it full of bugs/performance issues.

If you're interested in doing some investigating, go read about how 3D Realms doesn't pay their employees a proper salary, or takes money for things like physics big box orders but doesn't actually ship them after years of waiting.

ohh tower defense are my favorites, going to have to check it out.

on the subject of this game, does it have coop?, if not then dead for me

I literally just reinstalled Zero Hour a couple of weeks ago after a decade+ hiatus. I never was heavily into RTS, but Generals is one of my all time favorite games and I've been keeping an eye out for an RTX Remix of it (doesn't sound promising...). I'm ganna have to check out this demo.

Game seems to have a unit cap, which is the biggest turn-off in an RTS game.
