AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT & 9070 Prices Leaked by Canadian Retailer

AMD will be launching its new generation of "RDNA 4" Radeon RX 9070 XT and RX 9070 graphics cards next month, but we will likely hear more about technical details and price points from official sources around late February. Team Red had scheduled a special "launch event," but Radeon RX 9070 series leaks continue to flow online. Earlier today, reports alluded to an XT variant that allegedly sports a generous VRAM pool of 32 GB. VideoCardz has received another RDNA 4 tip-off, courtesy of Tomasz Gawroński and the AnandTech forums. Based on screenshots, Canada Computers has inadvertently revealed regional prices (minus tax) for PowerColor and XFX's opening round of custom Radeon RX 9070 XT and RX 9070 models.

Team Red is reportedly lining up an aggressive price strategy; industry insiders reckon that that baseline MSRP for the Radeon RX 9070 XT will be $599. Its non-XT sibling is expected to launch at a minimum point of $499. The Canada Computers leak seems to contain a small selection of models that hover closer to AMD's guidelines, but the majority of listed cards seemingly demand a premium upcharge. PowerColor's barebones models appear to conform closest to Team Red's recommended baseline—according to VideoCardz's conversion-crunching, the Radeon RX 9070 XT Reaper will cost $999 CAD (~$697 USD). The RX 9070 (non-XT) Reaper will come in at $839 CAD (~$586 USD). We spotted no surprises when looking up and down the list of leaked PowerColor RDNA 4 SKUs; TechPowerUp staffers handled Red Devil, Hellhound and Reaper samples at CES 2025. In sharp contrast, XFX appears to have all sorts of options lined up for launch (refer to VideoCardz's chart, below). Two unnamed demonstration units—in black or white—were on display at AMD's recent partner roundup.

If both Reaper models at ~15% markup are the closest to the baseline, I fear for the pricing on every other model out there.

I would not be surprised if the rumors that original MSRP was higher turn out to be true and that AIB partners overbuilt and over-specced their cards and now that AMD surprised them with a lower MSRP they will scramble to get every little margin they can. I grimly foresee that MSRP models will be unobtanium of the highest order.

I'm not spending 700/800 euros on a AMD mid range gpu and if I were i could buy a used 7900 xt/xtx and have lots of money to spare. You can keep them.

As long as performace is not a disaster which doesn't look likekly, I'll be buying a 9070 xt even at the same price of a 5070 Ti MSRP of $750, partly because I mostly operate in Linux but mostly because I refuse to send anymore of my money nvidias way.

I just understand and remember, that sellers don't want to miss opportunity to earn more,
so that after announcement of new product they don't want put MSRP or close to MSRP price on.
At least in the 1st month cards will have an additional margin “for those, who can't wait”.

Summer is likely to be the optimal time to buy a videocard.

All of them (US)$150 too expensive. AMD should be able to afford going at least a year without high margin on gaming GPUs, so they can gain some market share.

I'm in Europe, if seen several 7900xt for 600 euros refurbished (those cards they return almost new) with warranty, now they are getting less and less available. Several used cards for 600 eur used and even less.
xtx's can go for a little more, 700 euros you can get one, in the normal used sites were you buy stuff in your country.
It's not even that hard to find them and I'm not even in one of the bigger countries.

Right now I was going to say that 7900XTX are like $1200 but it seems like the retailers have pumped the price of those cards into the stratosphere. Newegg has the Sapphire Pure 7900XT for a cool $1799. The 7800XT are still $699 Canadian. If those prices are true they will rot on shelves. Of course Nvidia will help them sell when a 5070TI will be $2000 Canadian.

With every leak, prices are going up. Started with $479-$549 something, gone to $599-$699 and now we see even higher prices. Maybe AMD believes that Nvidia's 5000 series supply constrains will help them sell those Radeons at higher prices. If they think that, they should resign and go and work as night guards or something. Because they should know by now that the public buys the Nvidia sticker. If they can't find 5000 series cards, they will buy 4000 series instead of buying anything Radeon with a disappointing price tag on it.

Amazon had them between like $830 and 880 just prior to all the GPU announcements in the last month or so. since then they went up literally by the hour. to over $1k and now they (actual Amazon) are totally sold out and only folks selling them are sketchy vendors for yea like $1200 or more. cool, pay 20%+ over MSRP a few years after release, from a vendor that has like a 40% at best approval rating.....no thanks!

even XT versions are grossly over priced. the GPU market is insane! I thought I could get something cheaper by waiting until now, at the actual gen change.....but obviously is not the case. now if I bought one I'd just kick myself because it would be like, why didn't I buy one sooner, years ago, and it woulda been cheaper or just as much at best....so waiting helped nothing.

What I Imagine is happening at AMD right now :
"Bob, the GPU product manager at AMD keeps hearing from his wife and daughter that the wife and the daughter of Sam (PM at Nvidia) keeps bragging about that massive pool that Sam build. Bob feels likes he's losing the respect of his family, and need to show that he can also be ruthless and bring home big (bigger) money. So Bob doesn't care that AMD might have enough capacity to not raise the price so much, he decided that he will take advantage of the massive demand for GPUs, and sell expensive, but readily available GPUs, and build that damn massive pool with his bonus."

I understand your feeling. All of them have taken stupid decisions.
I rank AMD as the worst, then nVidia, then Intel - which seems to have learned a lot from the A series release.

Nvidia cannot get product to market.

What's the rush?

We don't yet know about the stocks levels of the 5070 series. Perhaps their launch will be less abysmal than those of the more expensive models.

But anyway - people being prevented from buying AMD cards either (entirely due to AMD's incomprehensible decision), means it's an ever-growing opportunity cost for AMD.

Semi-decent sales department logic : revise MSRP by mid-January, launch on the 23rd as planned. The market is empty : the direct competitor (70 series) isn't there yet, and even the more expensive offerings (80 & 90 series) are unobtainium. This means everyone, and especially the nVidia would-be customers, will consider buying your products ; with a good number of effective sales.

AMD sales department logic : wait until nVidia releases the cards they're directly competing against, thereby letting nVidia (slightly) replenish its stocks all-around, and allowing traditional nVidia customers to resist the temptation to buy competitively priced AMD cards. Oh, and also alienating the retailers who needlessly stockpiled AMD cards for 2+ months
