AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT & 9070 Prices Leaked by Canadian Retailer

They lost me at 1K, let alone 1200. If I am going to spend that much, I will just go with what I know, instead of the unknown (to me).

We definitely need to see reviews I mean if this performs closer to a 5080 than a 5070ti it might be ok or at least in between them at these prices but what was AMD going to price it at lmao prior to hearing 70 series pricing.

Maybe it was going to be lower they got wind of how shite 5000 series was and were like pump the breaks we need some of that cake.

AIBs had an additional month to pump out cards, as opposed to the 80/90 which were released earlier.
Also, by design, more 70 chips can be obtained from wafers.

We will have to wait till we actually see it but rumors put it at a similar size to the 5070ti/5080. 350-400mm2

Unless you're talking about the GB205 based 5070... which will probably be pretty small.

The new US export tariffs are hitting hard, it seems.

You're right. This stuff goes through so many places before it gets to you, I'm totally confused.

I wonder how badly the UK will be hit. Do GPUs go through the US before they get to us, too?

Tariffs for everyone, no one will escape.

They delayed them just in time to scalp them to their own customers

I don't know... Going through the US to ship to Europe sounds counter-productive to me.

Those cards go to straight to the UK. I post a lot of gaming builds and the Brits have got it good. Their prices beat the US prices on average not to mention the Brits have components they don't offer here in the US. As far as Canadian prices go, the Canadians asked to be hosed.

Everyone soon.
Let's stay practical and not get into wild speculation, shall we? :)

I only asked about the effects of the new US import tariffs on UK prices.

Well.. they are U.S. companies. Tariffs for the world.

US companies, yes. But if the cards don't pass through the US, then why would they have to pay import tariffs on them? They never get imported to the US to begin with.

I don't make the rules bro. They are coming for everyone.

They'll use the US pricing as an excuse to raw dog everyone.
Have you got a source on this? I'm getting conflicting answers.

I totally get that but if the US MSRP matches when converted to whatever your local currency is that means you are getting shafted. Is what I am saying.

That has been the case since forever. But it's not an answer to my question. I was talking about the new US import tariff, not the pre-existing UK ones.

My guess is even if it does not effect you directly like it costing more for AMD to import a card into the UK you will still get raw dogged.

I think the most my government can do is tell a US company not to import to a specific country I don't think they can charge US companies for doing business with the UK

Seems like all these retail rumored prices are done intentionally by AMD to confuse the f**K out of Nvidia, the fact that retailers already have the GPU's in stock & maybe plentiful as well, AMD could drop a massive bomb & price them lower than we think, AMD needs GPU market share badly.

If these are not the placeholder prices...then goid luck AMD, you will need it, a lot.

Nvidia cannot get product to market.

What's the rush?
Because there are people, who are waiting since Pascal series, to upgrade. They've waited second cryptocraze, RTX 2000 facepalm generation, then the second crypto scam, "covid" caused "scarcity", the RDNA1 flop inception, the RTX3000/RX6000 absence, and Ada/RDNA3 gouging.
Now, AMD claimed, they are not interested in high-end GPUs for RDNA4, as this is a placeholder, before UDNA/RDNA5. But they yet crave for the high-end pricing, regardless. People had hopes to get a proper powerful/acceptable-ish mid-end, but alas.

No, they're Canadian prices, with the new US import tax added on top. I doubt Nvidia's prices will make more sense.

$600 MSRP is considered high-end now? I wish it was true.

A gpu that competes with the worst Nvidia gpu generation I can remember costing slightly less money smh

Amd fans
Cheer Cheerleader GIF
This has always been my pet peeve. Nvidia releases something, everyone goes ape***t about how terrible it is, amd releases something that's 9.9% better and suddenly its the second coming of jesus. It does not compute, something that's 9% better than something disgusting is still disgusting.

I've read that the 5080 is actually a 5060ti in disguise (so it should cost 300, maybe 400$ MAX) so im going to judge the 9070xt as a 5060ti competitor. If it loses to a disguised 5060ti - and it costs 2 times 400$, this will be a disaster.
