AMD Radeon RX 9070 and 9070 XT Official Performance Metrics Leaked, +42% 4K Performance Over Radeon RX 7900 GRE

But CGI does not equal game play. I can believe that some day it could be better but I haven't seen it yet. And definitely agree the hit to frame rate is far outweighed by any visual gain
Nothing equals gameplay but this is a thread about GPUs, you do not buy new GPUs to have better gameplay, you buy them for the graphics, full stop.

What makes you think that the cut-down AD103 chips used for the 4070 Ti Super actually started to be made one year ago, and not before, being retained in warehouses to be released later as a "refresh" series? You keep thinking that Super cards are not part of Nvidia's lineup. They are.

I don't care when they were made, I care when they were released. You couldn't buy a 4070ti super 2 years ago.

But you could have if Nvidia released them right away. They only didn't to make them look better. "Oh, it's not a faulty 4080, but an upgraded 4070 Ti, you see?" Wink-wink.

I'm not buying such bullshit.

How do you know they could? They most have been collecting faulty dies until there was enough stock to release them. Same with KS cpus on intel, XT cpus on amd etc. That's a very common practice.

KS and XT are full chips with a higher clock bin. Golden samples so to speak. Only Nvidia retains different die configurations to be released later as a "refresh". I know they do this because of cards like the 4080 Super. You'd have to be super naive to believe that no fully working AD103 chips made it out of the factory for an entire year. It's all planned in well ahead.

The only exception is AMD's 7900 GRE, except that they never tried to sell it as a refresh, and were clear about it being a cut-down chip at a discount right from the start.

My point is that instead of spending $2-300 every gen like you're used to, you can just spend $700 every 3 gens now. Gaming won't die as a hobby, one just has to be more conscious of their buying choices now.
My point is, I was never used to spending $200-300 every gen, I was already used to spending $200-300 every 2-3 gens ;)
The problem, as I see it, is not that you can't set aside $500-700. It's that, once you have that kind of money, there are far better or more useful things to spend them on. E.g. pre-pandemic, $700 could pay for my vacation.

Point taken.

I definitely agree with this!

Uhm, no it is not. The 5070ti is 30% faster than the 4070ti at 6% lower price. And more vram
You have the delusion that the 70Ti can be found at MSRP, it's insanely hard to find it approaching MSRP in the US, impossible to find it below 150 above EU MSRP (which starts already higher than US MSRP, 880€ PRE-TAX in France for example, found for 1000€ PRE-TAX, sold 1300) in Europe, putting it at the 5080's MSRP, which is dog shit for a 70Ti and that's BEFORE accounting for the missing ROPs lottery...

880 would be the ventus, the other cards will be priced a bit higher
1120 available here

it's not great but in a couple of weeks things will quiet down and people can buy them for the MSRP+taxes in europe
There is no need to make things worst than they already are

5070 ti 30% faster than the 4070ti at 6% lower price
How can you state that with a straight face?
The price part.

Or was it sarcasm? I hope it was sarcasm.

Everyone knows 5070=4090, lol, how could 5070Ti be just 30% faster than 4070Ti?

Vacation or "travel"? (i.e. "misplacing" your travel visa)

All the way to Greece, for example. Of course, it helps Greece is 2h (or less) away.

Very nice!

I'm sure there's one of those gamer memes to be applied here, in the spirit of Roy Batty.

I really wish they still included WoW FPS numbers, but I also understand how hard that would be to get accurate lol. Blizzard need to come up with a benchmarking tool.

+37% without RT for an 18% higher price is still better than literally everything Nvidia has on offer.
Lies, 5070Ti +30% and lower price so its better

Also 37% is from AMD test, it goes down when testing TPU games, so around 30% is more real.

Price 649-699
+Vat/Aib/street price = +800 some models +900

u think u lost the money if u buy GPU?
U can sell it, u cant get moneys back u spend in vacation.
Also u have that GPU next lets say 2y

My 4090 cost me like 400$ because i sold it.
See, i didint lost those moneys i invest in 4090 but i can enjoys High/max settings in 4K while others who spend 400$ in GPU cant.

9070XT ”needs” to be no more than $600 MSRP.
In my country this will translate into ~570€. Add another 50-150€ for AIB premium + VAT, we are already at 770-900€.
Considering that XTXs were priced here at 900-1000€ just a couple of months ago… well, you get it…
5070Ti is starting from 1250€ up to 1400€ and of course still scarce.

To be honest I expect them to show up here at ~1000€ if not more, at least at first. Price hikes from distributors to catch the impatience buyers.

RX 7900 XT (way much more expensive gpu than RX 9070 XT to produce) was constantly going for 650-680€ (stret price) why would RX 9070 XT cost 770-900€ ? It will be a tremendous fail or even sidegrade.

So you think that amd will do the same as nvidia and will spit in face to it's users ? By artificially producing small amount of gpus and giving all to AI only.

Because u cant buy GPU MSRP
U pay Vat+Aib so street price is different.
So models like 9070XT cost +800 and even 900, i have allredy seen those in storage
U can ofc buy cheapest model and save some cash but its still cost u +700 depending again VAT/street price/Aib

U pay Vat+Aib so street price is different.
I mean new from store with two years of warranty. So street price does mean used or second hand ?

No I did not say that AMD will artificially bottleneck 9070series. Not believing it either after all the delay.
It just the way it is when you add AIB premium + VAT on MSRP.
7900XTs ($900 MSRP) were priced at 1000+€ here 2 years ago and slowly dropped to 700+€ today.

Do you really expect to find a 9070XT below ~750€ at least for the first weeks, if AMD sets the MSRP at $600?
It would be nice if we see 750-800€ at launch IMO at that MSRP.

It's a good question but it depends how much gpus amd will produce (after two months there should be a decent stock)

In any important scenario WoW is almost entirely CPU limited. If that’s all you play you’re better off upgrading your cpu/memory.

They’ll never have a benchmark tool if they haven’t bothered to release one in 20+ years.
