It appears as if US computer hardware retailer MicroCenter jumped the gun and posted the pricing of AMD's upcoming Radeon RX 9070-series graphics cards. This includes both the RX 9070 and the RX 9070 XT and the company posted pricing for no less than eight different cards from ASRock, ASUS, Gigabyte, PowerColor, Sapphire and XFX. The listings have since been removed, but VideoCardz posted a screenshot of the pricing for the various cards and it's not looking for AMD, at least not based on its statement that "85% of gamers buy cards below $700", since only two out of the eight cards manages to meet AMD's statement. Admittedly, some pricing appears to be placeholders, but it's clear that AMD's partners want more than AMD's MSRP pricing for their cards.

Starting with the RX 9070 cards, ASRock comes in at US$649.99 for its Radeon RX 9070 CL Triple Fan, whereas the only other RX 9070 is the Sapphire Reaper Triple Fan which is listed at US$1,099.99, which this card quite obviously won't sell for. The cheapest RX 9070 XT is again from ASRock in the shape of the RX 9070 XT SL Triple Fan for US$699.99, which is followed by the XFX RX 9070 XT Swift Triple Fan for US$729.99. The Gigabyte and Sapphire cards are listed at US$899.99 followed by ASUS and PowerColor at US$1,049.99 and US$1,100,00 respectively, all of which appear to be placeholder pricing. Even so, at over US$700, AMD is really going to have to deliver some unexpected performance figures to be able to compete with NVIDIA this time.

Oh Ok, that confirms the $650 MSRP and possibly indicates it's an OC beast... as some AIBs wouldn’t push premium models at $1000 otherwise(?)

Pricey… was hoping I was wrong about the price

oh they would. they're profiteers. they will try anything AMD let's them get away with.
Indeed, they will price them at whatever price they think the market will bear, regardless of the so-called "MSRP" or what AMD tells them behind the scenes what they can sell them for....

And given the prices of team blue's cards, we should all be/get prepared for higher prices all around, regardless of card maker, features, or specs....:(

Even if the 9070XT comes in around $700, it better stomp the crap out of Nvidia's offerings in that price range otherwise most people will wait for Nvidia stock to come in.

I was really hoping that the earliest of rumors about AMD bringing 4080 performance for $549 in their next cards was going to stay true, but in the past month that hope has dwindled and is now smashed. I doubt the 9070 will even be priced at the $549 with how things are progressing.

rumors about AMD bringing 4080 performance for $549
When will people learn about rumors? Pricing is always made up. No one knows, not even AMD. They always have to wait and see what Jensen does. That is the only way they can price a product without upsetting him into relaunching parts at lower prices. AMD wants the highest price possible too.

If the prices end up being $700 and $650, I only see one mistake in AMD's strategy. That $650. That $650 doesn't work and we have seen it with 7900XT. In Nvidia's case the 4080's stupid price had a meaning considering 4090 was a beast and without competition. In 9070 series case, there IS competition, so putting a $650 price is a mistake. I can probably guess they start with high prices hopping older cards to be sold, but again I think it is a mistake. $700 for the XT model, yes, we can thank those fake MSRPs from Nvidia for offering AMD the chance to increase pricing. But the $650 price for the 9070 non XT, it's shortsighted.

Double the price and subtract 10% from performance.

There is no if. The prices are not $700. It's up there in the first post. $700-$1,100. Good models start at $900.

I am assuming(or dreaming if you prefer) that AMD will have enough stock for someone to be able to find MSRP models available for more than 5 minutes after release of the cards and not have a repeat of what happened with Nvidia cards. Much more that 5 minutes. More like 5 weeks latter.
If prices end up at over $700 for the 9070s, then people should just boycott both companies.

why on earth would powercolor think it's ok to have the 9070 NOT XT version be more costly than competitors 9070 XT ?! if these prices are true it's a bad product regardless if performance reaches the highs they have touted for it

yea this makes zero sense. not real prices. how could there only be $1 difference in XT vs NON XT version?!

Because most buyers don't know how to read specs. They don't know that that "XT" on the model name is VERY important.

Hahahahaaaaaaa

hehahahahehehehehehhaaaaaaa

haaaaaaaaaaahahahahahahahaaaaaaaaaaa

AMD needs to institute a drug testing program.

Even $700 won't work well for AMD. At these prices few will buy even if the performance is at the high end of the rumors.

But I guess AIB also have extremely limited supply and think they can sell through it anyway.

These are just random figures.
Wait till Friday!

In what world do these prices make sense? It feels like the mining craze all over again.

If some of those prices are placeholders, we might as well assume all of these prices are placeholders..

Why does everyone get so worked up, the announcement and release will be here soon

Better get ready before not after because right now AMD is watching. Final price may change......
