You didn't answer my question so I'll answer it for you. He's ethnic Chinese.
Seriously? He's Malaysian, why is that so hard to grasp?

He's both. He was born in Malaysia yet he's ethnic Chinese. That makes us both correct. :)
The whole american fascination for race explains a lot.

You're the one who seems to have a problem with his race. All I did was point out that he's ethnic Chinese.
How do you know that? He could be of Manchurian or Mongol decent. You've read too much communist party propaganda, as there's no such thing as single chinese ethnicity. If anything, he's most likely of Hokkien, Teochew or Hakka decent.

-50 social credit for racism, @Why_Me

I genuinely don't care who their CEO is as long as they get their crap together and deliver something better than self-stoking hybrid failures. Preferrably better than AMD's offerings but that seems way too ambitious in this day and age.

A new CEO gets announced for Intel and yall talk about race/ethnicity, this is some cringe shit, especially you Daven.

All I did was mention the new CEO was ethnic Chinese and another poster lost their sh1t. Go get your arse kissing points somewhere else but do not call me a racist for what I posted.

Quote any of my post on this thread that you feel is racist.

Bad time to be an Intel shareholder or board member but my only concern is hoping that Lip-Bu Tan is an appreciator of consumer-grade Graphics Processing Units, or at least sees why it would be valuable for Intel to continue developing them ;-)

... delivers differentiated solutions to win in the market and builds high-performance cultures to achieve success
If he's really the leader Intel needs, he also pukes when he reads stuff like the above.

Subliminal bigotry at its finest. Who gives af what the guys ethnicity is?

White Guilt & Sons

Anyway, good luck to the new guy. Competition is needed for all our sakes.
Oh hey, I love shopping there! I get a 110% discount on everything when I show my R-Card. A lot of their products have kept going OOS recently, though...

Wow, ethnic erasure much? Saying I can't recognize a people's achievements?
Where's the rest? I'm scared now!
Don't unspoil...

How can he be Chinese when he holds US citizenship and was born in Malaysia? And the CCP does not even allow dual citizenship.

Are you from Pennsylvania? If you are, you might not be a US citizen, Pat Gelsinger is from Pennsylvania but he counts him as a foreigner. The logic must be it's because lake Erie is not full 100% on north american soil or something.

Honestly how do you guys not question bullshit like this?

As soon as I saw an asian I knew this would be the threads course. Some people here are absolutely incredible.

I know I know, "report and move on," if only that did something about the core issue here...

While market sentiments are good with his employment as CEO, but I recalled he had a fall out with Pat because he is not in favor of the Intel foundry strategy. May be I am wrong, but if it’s the case, not sure how it will give Intel a clear direction. Every new CEO comes with new direction. Intel is not in the best financial situation to flip flop between strategies because they are bleeding badly for quite a number of years now.

I do agree that the foundry business is a business they can ill afford at this point in time. Especially the case when there may not be “light at the end of the tunnel” for their foundry woes. If no drastic measure is taken soon, the burden may sink Intel without external help.

OMG a psychic, hey can I get some lotto numbers or perhaps my lucky ones that come on the back of a fortune cookie?

Also to just sum up all the information in an objective manner.

Lip-Bu Tan
Born in Malaysia, Ethnically Chinese
Grew up in Singapore and resided there until after getting a Bachelor's Degree
Attended MIT and got his Master's Degree
Attended University of San Francisco got another Master's Degree
Currently resides in Piedmont, California as a US Citizen

Side note: Due to the circumstances the world is in, it is not unreasonable to ask if a person who will have access to chips and technologies key to the defense of a nation is someone above reproach.

No, just the obvious with certain individual attitudes that seem to get a pass here.

Due to the circumstances the world is in, it is not unreasonable to ask if a person who will have access to chips and technologies key to the defense of a nation is someone above reproach.
That wasn't what was happening here.
