This Week in Gaming (Week 14)

Sorry man, the game wasn't bad at all. If you actually look into why the game didn't sell well had nothing to do with it being a bad story or game play.
I never offered my opinion on the game with the exception of the golfing joke. As far as I'm concerned, the game ended perfectly in P1. I have no interest of seeing Joel break character
in order to facilitate some unrewarding revenge story with Ellie. Not to mention the idea of playing as the murderer of a beloved character.
Regardless, neither of our opinions matter as the decision about a P3 is up to the studio head and publisher, and you have words of said head in the previously linked screenrant article.

It reportedly sold around half of Part 1, and, while profitable,

I didn't say you offered an opinion. I replied to the part about it selling less than half of the first one. I wasn't talking about P3 at all. I said I enjoyed the hell out of it as it was a masterpiece.

Good for you then. Now's its chance to surpass P1 in peak Steam concurrent players as that's a fairly reliable metric of gauging PC popularity. It even has the advantage of a lower price.

Why didn't it sell well?
Folks didn't like the LGBTQ and that was a huge controversy.

Next time skip over anything I post...you're just one of those people.

Nonsense. Your average person does not dislike LGBTQ as a rule. Badly written characters are very much disliked, and a lot of LGBTQ ones are so very badly written these days. Not that I need to remind you I'd expect, but Bill was clearly gay, and that Ellie had a lesbian relationship in the DLC for P1. I didn't personally like the DLC, but it wasn't on account of the characters, but some of the mechanics and the fact that they kept jumping constantly between the mall and the looking for medicine bits.

At least do me the courtesy of telling me what I'm being accused of here. Is it some sort of taboo to look at player counts in order to gauge interest in games?

Okay. Thank you for your honest opinion on the matter.

Gamers truly are the world's most oppressed minority post-millennium... :(

You two are so precious... loving eachother's posts. Cute.

Clearly you have no idea what you're talking about... TLOU is one of my favorite series, just google it. LGBT and the TLOU2...tons of ignorant rage.

Wait a minute, he didn't even say it was bad, or why it didn't sell well, he just answered your question about why a Part 3 is unlikely. What's with this sort of response?

I didn't say he said it was bad...English is hard. AGAIN and for the last time...I'm responding to about the low sales and why they were low. A Part 3 is going to happen, the show is doing way to well (my hope anyway).

You're welcome.

Right, well... this is getting weird. As for your request, I will reply to whomever I want. You may not appreciate it, but someone else, lurking perhaps, might be curious of things like what the studio head has had to say regarding the future of the franchise. Feel free to even use the ignore feature.

I wouldn't have said no to loving a franchise, instead of a game, but it wasn't meant to be in my case. You can't imagine how difficult it was, for someone that hates controllers, to push through the frustration of playing and finishing a shooter with one, all because the rest of the game made it worth it. In fact, it holds the distinction of being the only game that I've ever finished on a console.
A Part 3 is going to happen, the show is doing way to well (my hope anyway).
It very well might, but not anywhere within the next 7 years by my guesstimation. As for the show, Warner Bros. has an uncanny ability to shoot their own feet off. What was their conclusion after Hogwarts Legacy's success? That it should have been a live service, was it? Best of luck to you on getting Part 3.
