Welcome to the first full week of April and this week should be a bit more exciting than last week when it comes to new game releases. In this week's major release, you take command of some isometric WWII commandos. This is followed by an existential dilemma, a folktale from the deep south, some very dark days, being a studio executive and an assault by not so wild animals.

Commandos: Origins / This week's major release / Wednesday 9 April
You have been selected for a mission which will shape the fate of the entire world. Witness the very beginning of the legendary elite WWII force in Commandos: Origins. The long-awaited sequel to the Commandos series brings you right back to the foundation of the real-time tactics genre. And to the days where Jack O'Hara, the Green Beret, and his five companions met to form the infamous unit sent to complete missions which no others would dare to accept. Steam link

Peppered:an existential platformer / Monday 7 April
An existential platformer where Doomsday is just around the corner. Save the world or become an eternal corporate slave for the God of Death. Choices matter. Or do they? Goof around and find out. Steam link

South of Midnight / This week's second major release / Tuesday 8 April
As Hazel, you will explore the mythos and encounter creatures of Southern folklore in a macabre and fantastical world. When disaster strikes her hometown, Hazel is called to become a Weaver: a magical mender of broken bonds and spirits. Imbued with these new abilities, Hazel will confront and subdue dangerous creatures, untangle the webs of her own family's shared past and - if she's lucky - find her way to a place that feels like home. Steam link

Into the Dead: Our Darkest Days / Wednesday 9 April / Early access
Texas, 1980. Walton City has fallen to a zombie outbreak. Lead a band of desperate survivors from refuge to refuge by scavenging, crafting, and fighting in a relentless struggle for survival. Plan wisely, stick together, and—above all—keep moving if you want to make it out alive. Steam link

Hollywood Animal / Thursday 10 April / Early access
Make movies, even if someone has to die. Take the helm of a major Hollywood studio at the dawn of sound cinema, and guide it through decades of creative achievements and glamor, debauchery and dark deeds, tough choices and unpleasant compromises. Steam link

Wild Assault / Friday 11 April / Early access
Wild Assault is an anthro-themed tactical shooter built with Unreal Engine 5, featuring large-scale battlefield gameplay centered around Valiant abilities. Work closely with your team, harness your instincts, and charge into battle to secure victory. Steam link

+1 for commandos and into the dead looks interesting

Nice selection this week!

Peppered should be up my alley with its offbeat setting, branching narrative, varied mechanics and retro feel.
I like South of Midnight for its unique visuals, and the mood makes me think of The Longest Journey.
I'm not into zombie games, but Into the Dead doesn't seem to prioritize combat, so I'll look into this one as well.
And of course the new entry in the Commandos series is something I'll get to eventually.

Since PnClicks are rare !

Since PnClicks are rare !
That launched last week though and I didn't get a heads up by you the prior week, so...

I hope Commandos is good as I'm a big fan of the old games, but it doesn't bode well from the work done on the remasters.

South of Midnight if already out under the newest greedy industry scheme of "Advanced Access". It will also be out on gamepass when it officially "releases" for those that don't want to pay 40/50 for an 8h-ish linear game.

Since PnClicks are rare !
This will also be out in a couple of hours. It had an odd if not interesting trailer.

Here is one of the videos covering the game from few weeks back, certainly seems interesting:

The Hollywood game looks interesting.

I'll probably get South of Midnight. Premise is interesting, it doesn't seem to have forced extended story and pricing looks fair

Marketing team from Wild Assault got the assignment right. I mean panty shot 10 sec into the trailer, they are pulling all strings to the get the sails going :D

I love 3rd person shooters, definitely interested. They only need to copy Rogue Company and balance it right and there we go.
