"Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remake" Screenshots Leaked, "Shadow Drop" Reportedly Happening This Month

Skyrim could also use a remake, even more so when it comes to Morrowind, in due time, OFC.
Morrowind could also use a gameplay refresh, imo. It was way too complicated for my taste.

Bethesda is watching and reading, dear @AusWolf, at least I hope they are.

Thought I'm the only one. I never play Morrowind till one day my cousin say I should play it saying like it's the greatest thing ever. I started with Oblivion but I only went as far as second Oblivion gate before I got bored. Only Skyrim I play quite a bit, means at least finish it, once. When I try to play Morrowind it just didn't click with me, like at all.

In Morrowind, by the time I figured out the controls, I already had a million quests activated. Then there was the skill tree which I never bothered with. I just left the first town to try to do something and a spider killed me. That was it for me.

I loved Oblivion because of its authentic atmosphere. I didn't like its character creator and skill tree, though, but once I figured it out, it was alright. The scenery and soundtrack sold it for me. Still one of my favourite soundtracks ever, next to Homeworld and The Witcher (yes, the first one).

Skyrim wasn't bad, just empty. I spent hundreds of hours in the game, got almost everything discovered, but haven't progressed an inch with the main quest. It just didn't catch my attention as much as Oblivion did, even though I love Norse stuff. The simpler skill tree is definitely a plus.

Good god you TPUers are always negative & miserable, I'm all for constructive criticism but here it's just constant complaining

I put in over 500+ hours in my young twenties on this game, it gives me a right to complain : )

Anticipation commences <3

Yeah, was going to say.. Thats what made me love that game sooo much, all that lush greenery! Wtf??
I thought this was Morrowind! Doubly dissapointed... that looking like this would have been instant week off to play

MW was already rather dumbed down compared to Daggerfall. Quite literally the only “complicated” part of its systems is the fact that fatigue is taken into account for every action that you do and that your skills actually matter. Which is the reason for all the “why no hit mudcrab with starting dagger when specced into long blade, game bad” I have seen over the years. What the game COULD stand with is communicating its systems a bit more clearly to the players, but that’s really it. “Simplifying” things for the benefit of people who want to play RPGs without actually playing RPGs is what got Bethesda to the current point of making mid as fuck action games with stats in the first place, so how about we don’t go down that route.

We're ancient over here, just let us be and pick up my teeth from time to time. We call this constant nagging wisdom, or experience.

Yes well, you might also argue, it's because people were quiet for too long, and it's that silence what caused the slew of issues we face today.

No one likes to complain, it's exhausting.

Like I said above, I never even got into RPGs before Oblivion because they were overly complicated for my taste. I play games to enjoy a nice story and atmosphere, not to scratch my head trying to figure out which one of my 267 stats I should improve to get +1 hit on that mudcrab. So let's agree to disagree on this one.

Think I'm feeling 2006 more, maybe it's nostalgia, maybe old age ;)
There is a "Mexico" filter over the 2025 version :D
The original seems more lively more vivid regarding the colors, which I always LOVED!

Fresh coat of paint doesn't make the game more fun.
The game is fun tho, Oblivion was better than Skyrim in my opinion.

Hack Yeah!
It is 4 years since the last major upgrade

I actually haven't played the original, maybe it is time to replay this with my grandpa.

Hopefully it will be released in a playable state.

I guess Skyblivion team (Oblivion on Skyrim engine) will be pissed
Don't forget that every Bethesda game been made actually/really playable is thanks for mods... :D

Unreal Engine 5 = :shadedshu::kookoo: so this will be the next dead Remastered game...

Very happy about these news, I never really played enough of the original so perfect chance to experience it. Really enjoyed Morrowind back in the day and Skyrim was good fun too so think I'll enjoy this, hopefully it gets the mod community support too.

Not if they keep the burned out brown shade on this one while Skyblivion stays true to the original.

The Skyblivion mod is labor of love by fans who are not expecting to get paid.
The mod Team would finish it even if only they going to play it.

Yes, this is what sets modders apart from even the games own developers, it's a labour of love, such devotion, is always superior to people that just want to make a quick buck of a franchise name that was successful in the past.

The only companies products I can & will buy blindly, are Valve products, their passion for trying to bring something new/superior to the table will always set them apart. It may take many years, but when they launch something, you know you are in for a treat.

I am not sure about the actual devs, they do what the management demanding from them.
So they need to rush and crunch - I am pretty sure they could finish and polish all TES games nicely, Consider the wide scope they always aiming for.
More time (and money) needed for that. So I will not damn any of the devs for the famous Bethesda bugs!

Damn right :toast:
