Folks vastly underestimate the power of A.I and how it can be used/misused by an enemy undermine a nation with catastrophic consequences, from deep-fakes, to automated narratives to shape peoples minds/views. No, trade is really one of the major sources of conflict in the past.
Countries that closed themselves to trade were forced to trade. Countries that got locked out of critical resources were forced into war. Japan is a good example of both.
