What is the point of this X2 max drive really? It will just overheat and throttle within minutes. Anybody who really needs to move large files will go for an m.2 enclosure and anybody who uses thumb drives doesn't need the speed or cannot appreciate that kind of device's price/performance. A very very niche market remains where a thumb sized drive is needed for very few very large files at high speeds. Wow, they might sell a 100 of these after all! Amazing /s

Never underestimate the power of marketing. These drives have "moar speed", and buyer who will purchase it for bragging will not check the limitations or real world results.

But it's not like it's promising some unreasonable speeds, I have memory cards faster than that.

The funniest thing is that if you told me 5 years ago that you could get a portable SSD with that kinda capacity and physical size, i'd say you're getting ripped off. Today, this is real.

I mean, I have seen companies just buy crappy smart TVs with like 16gb of storage, then just attach a large portable SSD and run a video slideshow, for cheap digital signage. Still a niche market, but have you seen what they charge for digital signage stuff?

I like the design of their enclosures. I have a 128GB flash drive in my car storing my music files. It's less than half full so I doubt I'll be needing anything 1TB large for that case.

I want the 2TB iPhone specifically to store video clips which I format in iMovie and then upload to Youtube for views/money.

Don't discount the need for these1TB and 2TB drives. These are great for offloading video clips from iPhone and faster than the same capacity micro SD card.

Also really good for backing up or migrating data from personal NAS servers. One of the 2TB drives would allow me to completely backup my 2TB NAS.
