Ghost of Yōtei's release date has finally been confirmed as October 2 of this year. Sony Entertainment today announced the October 2 release date, which is slated to be exclusive to the PlayStation 5 console for the time being, alongside new special editions of the upcoming action-adventure game. All pre-orders for Ghost of Yōtei, which start on May 2 at 10:00 AM, will include seven PSN avatars—representing Atsu and the Yōtei Six—and an in-game mask cosmetic. The base game will cost $69.99, while the $79.99 Digital Deluxe Edition will include the full digital base game, four cosmetic unlocks, and an early unlock for the Travelers Map. The Collector's Edition bundle will include an array of physical collectibles—a replica of Atsu's mask from the game, a sash, tsuba, art cards, zeni hajiki coin game and pouch, and a papercraft ginko tree—along with the same in-game items as included in the Digital Deluxe Edition. All of that comes at a whopping $249.99.

Sucker Punch also released a new trailer for Ghost of Yōtei, which reveals the villainous Yōtei Six and their brutal slaughter of Atsu's people, which serve as the motivation for her revenge story. It's unclear when Ghost of Yōtei will expand to PC and other console gaming platforms, but speculation suggests that 2027 is the earliest we will see a cross-platform launch for the Ghost of Tsushima sequel. Previous reports also indicated that there will be a Ghost of Tsushima expanded universe, with possible TV and movie spin-offs on the cards.

Despite the game's narrative focus, Ghost of Yōtei will give players the freedom to investigate and hunt down the members of the Yōtei Six in whichever order they please. Ghost of Yōtei also seems to be emphasizing the exploration aspects of the game, giving players the ability to freely explore Ezo as they wish, setting up camp anywhere at night to take shelter.

The Onryō's List." Sixteen years ago in the heart of Ezo (called Hokkaido in present day), a gang of outlaws known as the Yōtei Six took everything from Atsu. They killed her family and left her for dead, pinned to a burning ginkgo tree outside her home. But Atsu survived. She learned to fight, to kill, and to hunt, and after years away she has returned to her home with a list of six names: The Snake, The Oni, The Kitsune, The Spider, The Dragon, and Lord Saito.

One by one, she's hunting them down to avenge her family, armed with the same katana used to pin her to that burning tree all those years ago. But while Atsu's story begins with vengeance, she'll find there's more to her journey than just revenge. As she explores Ezo, Atsu will meet unlikely allies and forge connections that help give her a new sense of purpose.

You know what, i'm actually in charge of safe operation at my airlines now, I get to chew out pilots who make mistakes due to negligence.

That also means I get less time to play games , and Sony story driven games these days are on my ignored list.

Played Ghost of Tsushima and I got bored after 25h, kinda overrated game. Side quests are so boring, visuals are just mid.

And I was treated like I'm being a 5-headed alien tentacle monstrosity from a hentai nightmare saying that earlier...

i will never understand people who watch other people play games.
I'll try to explain. While i cant speak for anyone, but myself.
Personally i watch other people play games that i have already played. Sometimes i have played those games handful of times. Sometimes i've played them over dozens of times. The reason i watch is to see other people's reactions to my favorite games/moments. To see what decisions they make and in some cases seeing them play a game i know i like actually motivates me to install that game again myself. I watch their first time experience since i myself can no longer experience my favorite games for the first time.

this is fair, I don't even know why I am bitter over it, they are good for the industry because they increase sales numbers, etc and our industry stays alive and we can all enjoy games in our own way

Consoles aren't just about saving money. I have consoles and gaming PCs. I prefer the overall experience of consoles.

You know what, i'm actually in charge of safe operation at my airlines now, I get to chew out pilots who make mistakes due to negligence.

Definitely agree with you here though :D

I actually got bored after about 5 hours. Very overrated game indeed. The vegetation is their money punch, but take away the vegetation and the visuals are quite mid, yeah. Some pretty sus lighting and texturework for an AAA game. Most other Sony exclusives look considerably better, like GOW and Ratchet and Clank.
