The Japanese manufacturer JAPANNEXT, known for its unique monitor designs with distinctive form factors and specifications, has released the JN-IPS276SDQHD-HSPC6-CMS monitor featuring a 27.6-inch IPS panel with SDQHD resolution (2560 x 2880), providing 2.67 times more display area than Full HD. This vertical-oriented display with a 16:18 aspect ratio came in handy mainly for users who do a lot of coding or work on large documents and spreadsheets, minimizing scrolling. Moreover, the monitor includes a retractable webcam and microphone at the top. Connectivity options include HDMI 2.0 @ 60 Hz, DisplayPort 1.4 @ 60 Hz, audio, and USB Type-C with 65 W power delivery capability.

Technical specifications include 178° viewing angles, 300 cd/m² maximum brightness, 100% sRGB and 97% DCI-P3 color gamut coverage, and HDR support. The monitor offers KVM functionality, allowing keyboard and mouse sharing between various connected devices. The display supports PBP mode for simultaneous viewing of two input sources side-by-side or stacked, plus PIP mode for picture-in-picture functionality. Flicker reduction and blue light filtering are also present.

Additional features include a height-adjustable stand with a 100 mm vertical range, 90° pivot capability, 45° left-right swivel function, 5 W stereo speakers, and VESA 75x75mm mount compatibility. The product includes a two-year manufacturer warranty and costs 109,800 yen (around $765).

Huh... isn't that webcam too high up for it to be of good use? Or it at least is designed pointing down?

There's always the LG version which was often on sale and probably uses the same panel.

OK, so it is exactly like two 21" 2560x1440 16:9 monitors one over another, just without bezels.
Does 16:18 monitor need a pivot?

I guess I'm not a target, but I definitely like that something this unusual is available and for a reasonable (for a niche product) price.

Even without any sales or discounts, the LG version is 599$ direct from the LG webstore with better specs (90W PD instead of 65W), no reason to get this no name version for more (much more if it ever gets a worldwide release).

100% an 'office' display w/ that 60hz. Even 75-90hz w/ a market-focus on 'eyestrain', would've been appreciated.
Sadly as-is, it's too niche; given the affordability and availability of thin-bezel 1440P displays and 4K HDTVs (portrait).

Neat. -but, underwhelming.
