Fractal Scape Gaming Headset Launching on June 18

On June 18th, 2025, Fractal Design will launch its first audio product, Scape - a gaming headset crafted to deliver an immersive and intuitive wireless audio experience. Featuring Scandinavian Design with clean lines, soft fabric, and a charging stand, Scape is designed for both performance and comfort. It offers audio connectivity through a low-latency dongle, as well as multi-device Bluetooth 5.3 connectivity, and comes with a flip-to-mute detachable microphone.

With ambient lighting and audio presets easily customizable through our online configuration tool, Adjust Pro, Scape provides a tailored experience with no software installation or user registration required. Scape is set to launch with global availability at an MSRP of $199.99. Pricing may vary by market due to local import duties and other factors.

this is a no, for $199 just buy a planar magnetic instead


like these here. i own the older version of these and they are insanely good. use a desktop mix or add a modmic they are cheap on amazon

These things don't target the same customers. . . people who buy wireless headsets want wireless headsets, they are not looking to buy headphones which are not only not wireless but requires them to buy a DAC and a separate mic as well.

fair, but you can get wireless planar for $199 too, i just linked the wrong pair, i know they exist somewhere though with a little research. meh
 
Ooh, Ooh...i can wear my Fractal Headphones sitting in my Fractal Chair whilst using my Fractal case housed PC. I'll look so cooool.
 
Found some more details from a Swedish etailer that have their HQ close to Fractal.
Apparently those flaps on the stands are for wireless charging.
There's apparently built in microphones into the headset itself, as well as the detachable arm, which is said to offer "super wideband" whatever that is.
The control app is web based and doesn't require an account, so that will be interesting to see in action.
The USB dongle can apparently be attached to the charging base, which might be good to get it away from the computer for less potential interference.

Again, people who want a headset don't want headphones, no matter how much "better" they sound.

A flip-away mic can be a godsend if you need a physical "mute" switch.

a mod mic is like 10 bucks and so easy to addon to and headphone...

I'm in the camp that nobody should ever buy a gaming headset for any reason. Especially an upmarket one.

A wired mod mic starts from 60 Euro / USD, while a wireless mod mic is 145+. This whole headset retails for 199 USD, wireless planars start from like 250 and have shit batterylife and only offer Bluetooth-connection which isn't up ro snuff for gaming, and if you actually buy the one competent planar gaming headset in existence, Audeze Maxwell, you're spending 299+ for it - where I live MSRP is 339 Euro, that's nearly 75% more money, money I'm sure gamers would rather spend on something else or keep if they consider the Fractal Scape as suiting their needs.

don't have to get name brand... plenty of cheap ones do same exact thing

My Arctis 7 and 9 have been godsends for both gaming and work purposes. Neither sound nor microphone are amazing on either, but are "good enough". The mic in particular is as good or better than most people I'm on voice with. The real ace-in-the-hole is the dual audio sources. Being able to adjust audio balance between the Game and Chat sources on the fly via a cup-mounted control is bloody brilliant. There are zero headphone+mic combinations that can duplicate this.
 
Meh. No spec sheet or anything? Does it support Dolby Atmos? How does the web integration work? Do the settings get uploaded to onboard memory? What gives? Any software requirement would be an instant nope for me. That's why I'm intrigued by the promise of a software-free wireless headset but need waaaaaaay more info (e.g. on battery life also).

Come on, Fractal. A simple page with a few flashy marketing slides is not the way to announce a new product. People want actual information.

this is fair, i can see why someone would prefer that over a modded solution

i dunno, my $8 Belkin desktop mic from walmart 30 years ago still works great to this day, people say it sounds fantastic. maybe they just made things better back then, I dunno

Where do you find mod mic at $10 ?! the cheapest one is $65, not relating to this headset as I'd never buy a headset from a company known for manufacturing cases&chairs but I'm just curious if there is a trick to buy a mod mic for $10.
