Is it really worth making one for 5090, a card that has no headroom for overclocking at all? Power delivery is already maxed out, on top of the risk of burning connector (which modding will void warranty if burnt)

Removing the fans adds back to your total board power budget :cool:

At least on the Alphacool cooler, there is also a good sized thermal pad covering the 12V6X2 pins, siphoning heat away from the connector, and into the backplate.
I would assume EK has something similar on their block.
Doubt it will "fix" the 12V6X2 issues, but it should at least mitigate it.

After adding an Alphacool Core block to my 5090, I am regularly seeing 3.1~3.2GHz, and have even seen it spike over 3.3GHz on at least one occasion.
Gaming clocks are usually a bit lower, but, as I recall, they are still in the 2.8GHz range...
And, even with the fans cranked way down, I am only peeking to the low to mid 50's!

Blackwell really loves being kept cool... as well as loads of power :laugh:

Lower temps means lower voltage is needed for stability. Lower voltage means less power at same clocks, or more power to spend on higher clocks.
