NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5050 Reportedly Scheduled for July Release

That really should've been the price of the 5060 this gen, how sad. Maybe this one will actually come out at around $200, that wouldn't be that bad.

5060 is actually $200. nVidia just charges an extra $100 or so on top of it for features and "perception of value". :roll:
This strategy has worked so well for so long for nVidia that AMD decided to copy it starting with RX 7000. Even though 9060XT 8GB is basically tied with 5060 in raster at the targeted 1080p resolution, it's the same $299 as 5060 despite weaker SS and RT. 9060XT loses in efficiency too. I can't see why anyone would buy it over a 5060 outside of title performance or a hatred for nVidia.
And Intel is MIA. B580 is hard enough to find in stock, and the $249 MSRP has been a sad joke since it launched. Very unfortunate.

NO 2GB or 4GB 5030??? ;)

There is no issue in the 5050 having the performance of a 3060. However, price and power consumption MUST come down.

That used to be the deal: getting the performance of the older higher tier card at a lower cost and power.

NVIDIA increases SM count per generation, they're not leveraging architectural raster improvements, but focusing on Tensor/AI.

3060 = 28/30 SM GA106 with 6 x 32 bit controller layout at 170w.
5060 TI = 36/36 SM GB206 with 4 x 32 bit controller layout at 180w.
5060 = 30/36 SM GB206 with 4 x 32 bit controller layout at 145w.

IF 5050 is on GB207 via full die 20/20 SM, it might end up even or worse than said 3060. Depends on TDP limit.. I could see 120w spec being worse.

I meant an RTX 5050. :laugh:

What you linked is basically a GT 1030, of which I've already got one. :)

But come on, your 1030 ain’t got that sexy ‘Quadro’ badge. If you blink fast enough, you'll see it ain't just a tag, but Quadro-uple MFG in the making. Some secrets should never be told ;)

I just KNOW that it's gonna sell out.
People are so dumb...

Do you blame them? The low end GPU market has been starved to near extinction.

Personally, I think this card would be a great HTPC upgrade for the right price.

I wonder how much it'll cost. If it's cheap enough I might buy it for more VRAM, these people are crazy for asking for more than $200 for an 8GB card. Might just go with a few Instincts though, decisions, decisions...

200 us dollar is a lot. It's not like it'S a 45€ now, before 30€, nvidia 710 card or nvidia 730 card.
I do expect more for 200 us dollar graphic cards.

I would agree on the argument for up to 90 us dollar, including tax.

I just checked the biggest PC parts seller in my country. RX 6600 is still selling for 256USD (VAT included) and latest buyer reviews are describing it as a good product for such a price. Having this much money can buy you also RTX 3050 8GB, which has similar feedback. Hell, people are even buying RTX 3050 6GB, not because it is only 75W, not because of its excellent SFF potential, but as a regular gaming card -> it cost 209USD here - and the buyer reviews are full of comments about excellent performance for such money.

RTX 5050 8GB must be around 200USD = 250USD VAT included and performance equal or better than RX 6600. Add DLSS and FG on top and NVIDIA has a winner here. True 1080p / eSport card in the eyes of many. ...btw, AMD will do the same; maybe 20USD cheaper.

My opinion: if it costs really 200, I don't care. Valid product in today’s world.
