Seems legit...

I have a feeling this is not going to sell well. Most users game on a 6 core or less CPU, in fact according to all the data out there, 6 cores account for half of the processors, with a good 20% being 4 core processors.

Plus its an overexpensive turd!

Probably a load of rubbish anyways. Unreal Engine 5 struggle to use more than 4 cores. They have been trying to make it more multi threaded because of the engine is just crappy at it. So doubt you really need anything more than 6 cores.

There are a few rare 3080's with 12GB going around...

But yeah. It seems like you'll be playing on low-med with an 8GB card :) I'm sure its all just allocated and not utilized, eh...

I think you're missing the point why they are recommending an 8 core cpu

I have been a long time fan of this series and own them all but this one will have to go on deep discount before I even look at it...

I'll wait until it's free on the EGS. I bought Borderlands 3 twice, after all. But this game? It's just not passing a good vibe right now.

From what i have read it seems more like it was only designed to use four cores while talking about scaling

Is it really the collector's edition that's dampening people's spirits about this game?

I mean, there's the recent TOS update for the old games that basically legally allows spying on you in single player games.
There's the continuous failures of Borderlands as a franchise to be more than a test of RNG loot drops.
There's the absolute abomination of a movie that absolutely has Pitchford's greasy fingerprints all over it...just like the games.
There's more...but I'm so tired. So tired of the same game being constantly released...and not hitting Tiny Tina's Wonderland levels of quality.

My issue with the fourth game isn't the collector's edition, but the fact that this has Aliens: Colonial Marines vibes of being undercooked, political, and without redeeming features. The pre-order garbage is an entirely separate concern with regards to not costing $80 for a game up-front, but expecting $30 or more from minor DLC and $50 for a collector's edition...that "base" $70 game is already expected to be $100 or more. Oh, and Pitchford positioned this price as "true fans will find a way to pay for it," which is such a wonderful way to say that they have run the numbers and believe that they have enough of an install base that they'll hit sales targets at this price point...damn the value proposition.

In short, Gearbox had their grease weasel tell everyone "if you don't like it, or you think it's too expensive, then don't buy it." Because the kind of person who leaves a drive with work information and adult material at a medieval times is definitely the appropriate representation of what modern Gearbox is.

I'm sorry, but English is not my first language and I have a very hard time understanding what your last sentence means. Could you please elaborate?

Also some of the numbers you wrote won't add up to me.

Might be my fault, perhaps I'm too tired and should go sleep...

There was also some Symbiote DRM along with Denuvo listed on BL4 Steam page before. WTF is Symbiote?

Oh, Symbiote seems to be 2K's in-house "telemetry" and anti-cheat tool required to be run on OS kernel access mode level.
UE5 + 2 kernel level turds pretty much explain why 8 cores are minimum lol.

IMO, these kernel level DRMs are huge security concerns, as they can potencially open many doors for hackers.
Stacking more DRMs would make things even easier for them. Steam acounts could be a gold mine for hackers (ransom).

I played 1 and 2 on console with my kid, until he was old enough to want to join the PCMR. The rest were all give aways, including Tiny Tina's Wonderland which I got for free just a few weeks ago. The gameplay loop gets stale fast after putting 100s of hours into the first 2.

Yeah I’ve played all of them with a friend I’ve been gaming with for 20 years. I think we were at least 3 loops through BL2
