GSC Game World is thrilled to announce the Guns and Looting Patch for S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl is out now, featuring one of the most significant updates to date - including new weapons, never-before-seen gameplay features, and official mod support with the Zone Kit.

New Firepower: Three-Line Rifle and Kora Pistol
Patch 1.5 arms players with two formidable new weapons, perfect for surviving the Zone's relentless dangers:
  • Three-Line Rifle: A lightweight, bolt-action sniper rifle with impressive range and precision. Ideal for sharpshooters, this rifle has quickly become a favorite among veterans of the Zone. Encounter it early in your journey and test your aim against distant threats.
  • Kora Pistol: A heavy-hitting, clunky pistol that sacrifices speed for raw power. Each shot from its limited magazine packs a punch, making it a must-have for stalkers who value impactful firepower. Seek out the rare Night Stalker variant, a unique Kora coveted by weapon collectors.

Expanded Looting: Mutant Parts Trading
Patch 1.5 introduces a new feature: mutant parts looting. Defeating bloodsuckers, fleshes, and other mutants now yields valuable parts including eyes, tusks, and tentacles. Trade these with NPCs for coupons - but first, visit Malachite to master the art of harvesting them in tradable condition.

The Zone Kit: Official Mod Support Unleashed
GSC Game World is proud to introduce The Zone Kit, a powerful modding toolset that empowers players to shape the Zone to their vision. Available on the Epic Games Store, the Zone Kit allows stalkers to:
  • Modify or create new animations, weapons, mechanics, and anomalies.
  • Adjust gameplay to suit your preferences, whether you're seeking more challenge, less difficulty, or something entirely new.
  • Share creations effortlessly via mod.io or Steam Workshop, depending on the platform.

Future updates will add even more functionality to the Zone Kit, ensuring endless creative possibilities. This marks Phase One of the mod support launch, so stay tuned for future updates.

Other Enhancements
Patch 1.5 streamlines the stalker experience with:
  • Further A-Life improvements.
  • New Electric Water Tornado anomaly.
  • New vehicle models scattered across the terrain.
  • Expanded stash window size for better inventory management.
  • Distinct icons for each ammo type, making identification effortless.
  • Reload renewal, allowing Skif to seamlessly resume interrupted reloads.

For players using the Ukrainian voiceover, Patch 1.5 adds Ukrainian lipsync to all non-prerendered cutscenes, enhancing immersion in key story moments.

Last but not least, the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. series will be part of the Steam Summer Sale starting on June 26. S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 will be available at a 30% discount, while S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Legends of the Zone Enhanced Edition will be 15% off.

Is it good now?

To be honest, dev team is ambitious and hard working to try to fix this big game. It is clear it needed at least a year of active development before the release date. It seems they were caught up with time and were embarrassed to postpone it again and again.

It was good before.

I have and still am enjoying this game, will look at this mod kit though

Edit make sure you have enough space for the zone kit, it needs a lot, i'll stick it somewhere else i guess. the game on steam is only 155GB, is this ALL the assets for the game then?

Every patch less performance. With this one, about 8-10% less than day 1 version lol

Ok, but I have that collection. It's only 8GB + 10GB + 12GB. Again, that's a huge download you showed. So what am I missing?

The mod kit is to mod the game, it seems it has ALL the uncompressed game files. You can it seems do most anything in the game see this

Ah. Ya know, I'm fine with compressed textures. I'm not fine with game files that take up 1/3 of my drive space. Hard core pass. This is 2025, not 1995. A single game should not be taking up a large portion of the system drive capacity.

Still a lot missing from original ones, but modders will fix that almost 8 month to add new stuff
the game was unfinished at launch paired with bad engine unreal 5 ...

How easy (or feasible) would it be to retrofit specific parts of a newer version of Unreal Engine, i.e. Lumen Hardware Ray Tracing Optimizations from 5.6?

I think the best is to desactive the stuff who consume fps: threat inractive on yt has many videos
Or you can try asking on unreal forums
With some mods you can gain ~30fps
