Welcome to the first week of July, which is yet another slow week of new releases, which might have something to do with this Friday being a major holiday in the US. This week's major release is a free to play mecha PvP game. This is followed by a relaxing trading game, some psychological horror, a fantasy MMORPG, a cat adventure and finally you get to relax in a tavern.

Mecha Break / This week's major release / Wednesday 2 July
After the Catastrophe, humanity harnessed the power of Corite—a mysterious carbon-silicon mineral driving rapid technological recovery. But its pathogenic nature and relentless spread threaten to consume Earth's last habitable spaces. In just decades, Corite is projected to engulf the globe. Humanity must find a way to preserve civilization before the countdown reaches zero. Resist. Adapt. Escape. Or follow Corite's call and forge a new path. Steam link

Rekindled Trails / Monday 30 June
Gather and Sell faraway goods to rebuild ruined towns and bring back light to a dark world in this cozy adventure game. With the help of your fire companion, fish, pull and mine natural resources in Aurteris to unite the people of this strange yet fantastic world. Steam link

The Echo Paradox / Tuesday 1 July
Humanity stands on the brink of an unsettling revelation - the multiverse is real, but eerily devoid of life. As a daring volunteer for the Phaselink research group, you embark on a chilling journey, venturing into unknown parallel universes in a desperate quest to find any remnants of human existence. Steam link

Aura Kingdom - Impact / Wednesday 2 July
Aura Kingdom: Impact is an anime-style fantasy MMORPG. Explore a vast world, fight with dynamic skills, and switch classes freely. Summon Eidolons to aid in battle. Try the new Floating Cannon class with powerful ranged combos and seamless skill use. Steam link

Lucifer's Grand Adventure / Thursday 3 July / Early Access
Lucifer's Grand Adventure is a 2D platformer where you navigate treacherous terrain by jumping, running and dashing. Some of the collectibles are hidden while others require skillful execution of the controls to access. Steam link

Tavern Legends / Friday 4 July / Early Access
In Tavern Legends, you don't just swing the spoon - you wield the broom too. Tap beer, create your own meals, design your taverns, and build your team. From grumpy beggars to pompous knights - everyone wants beer! Raise your fame and become a legendary innkeeper. Steam link

I'm most partial to The Echo Paradox myself. Perhaps also Taverns Legends.

Who cares about fireworks somewhere else btw?

Im in it for mecha break.

What's with the fireworks option btw?

wow looking at this 830am EST and it's up.............early!!

echo paradox......the graphics kind of reminded me of early version counter strike source

But you did dance around the maypole last week? (it was the option two weeks ago)

And the reason I add these somewhat silly responses is because I don't want too much negativity in the voting options, as people here love bashing things.

physiological horror
@TheLostSwede
You may have invented a new genre unwittingly! Unless the game uses some unorthodox mechanics I'm unaware of? :D

I think I will try again get to mecha break, (but I hate those openings where you...., that is in Mecha break and Stellarblade, they felt incredibly similar for me, and made me drop games only after just opening sequence).
Ps I'm happy with "This Week in Gaming" :) Just saying ;)

Hey, at least someone reads this stuff...
Also fixed. I blame it on the spell checker and my inability to spell medical terms properly.

It's been a couple of slow weeks, so not much to get excited about to be honest.

I'm talking about the format and that it is My weekly thing to check what You presented, cause there is fun in checking what there is in gaming, even if it is not for me :).

Well, I do also try to cover some lesser known games on the slow days where there's nothing really interesting. It wasn't easy this time around though, but still not as bad as the weeks between Christmas and New Year.

Lucifer's Grand Adventure looks like a mix between N and something I can't quite remember, but the coloured rods is reminding me of something.

Except for those indie games, are there any good AAA games being released next month, by any chance?

Nothing I can see now, mostly a bunch of remakes or console releases on PC.
There are a few new games, but nothing I would call AAA, but still good games.
The AAA releases will start again in August.

The mech game looked cool until.....its an online only PvP game.

Guess I'll go watch fireworks instead.

Judging by your choice of games to post about or poll about, you need to work on your view of whats a AAA game and whats not.

Huh? I don't decide what a AAA game is. This is why I use major release for the biggest release of the week, as in what will seemingly be the most popular game. I only use the AAA game moniker when it's expected to be a AAA game.
Also, just in cased you missed it, it's a game per week day that we're posting, plus any additional games that are too big to skip over. As such, there can be some random crap on the 4th, but three new games launch on the 5th, only two of those make the full list and the third one will end up at the bottom as also launching this week.
But again, I'm happy for someone else to take over and do things their way, after having it approved by the management.

Indie games are not a major release of any kind.

It's so great that Daban partnered with Mecha Break to ensure there is no IP infringement..
