G.SKILL International Enterprise Co., Ltd., the world's leading brand of performance overclock memory and PC components, is working closely with the ASUS ROG team to explore the overclock potential of the new DDR5 CAMM2 form factor and have successfully reached the early milestone of Memtest-stable at DDR5-10000 memory speed with a 64 GB capacity CAMM2 module on a modified custom ASUS ROG Maximus Z890 Hero CAMM2 motherboard with an Intel Core Ultra 7 265K desktop processor.

Overclocked CAMM2 Reaches DDR5-10000 Memtest-Stable Milestone
G.SKILL is always seeking out overclock memory performance wherever possible. With the in-development CAMM2 form factor and in cooperation with the ASUS ROG team, demonstrating stability is the first step toward enabling overclock memory specifications on future hardware platforms.



In this instance, G.SKILL's 64 GB CAMM2 module is overclocked to DDR5-10000 CL52 and running Memtest to 100% coverage on a ASUS ROG Maximus Z890 Hero CAMM2 motherboard and Intel Core Ultra 7 265K desktop processor, as shown in the screenshot below.

Really hope CAMM2 isn't going to take too long to get adopted.
 
Ok, but what is bandwidth of that memory? Like in dual channel(dimm) DDR5 10000 or just a half like in single channel with single memory stick? I didn't see window with data from CPU controller that show speeds of RAM and CPU caches.
 
Not very Mitx friendly, just invent a normal 128 bit module.

That's one of the benefits of CAMM2: Dual channel with only one module. Only one stackable type of CAMM2 intended for especially high capacities needs two modules.

@Topic: I don't the benefits outweigh the disatvantages on desktop motherboards. It may save space vertically, but it sure doesn't horzontally and as of now it doesn't seem to reach higher speeds than CU-DIMM.

On mobile though, i wish it had already replaced SO-DIMM and soldered LPDDR5X with LPCAMM2.
 
Ahh the spec that continues to be a waste of R&D in the desktop space. Glad to see this is still nothing CU-DIMM hasn’t already done…
 
So when a single chip fails the hole assembly unit is trash. When that RAM slot is broken the hole mainboard is trash.
This is a very bad idea and very bad design.

I do not see any way to use 8 of those modules on a mainboard. The reference are the pictures of this post.

Having only 4 or 2 DRAM slots is already a bad compromise.
 
Interesting. So the lines to the processor are shorter using this method.

Setting aside pointless overclocking waste of electricity, I hope CAMM standards comes to every platform (assuming foolproof mounting). Imagine in servers e.g. 4TB of RAM just with 2x2TB 8 channel modules.
