Today newspiece - switch get an aftermarket cooler which does not even spans the hole device and looks ugly.

And this is with a new display panel that has worse response times than the original switch because it's IPS with no overdrive tech. 33ms response time and ghosting lol

Shortly after the news of Switch 2 overheating problems, an additional cooling solution shows up. No coincidence, at all.
Products like this are not made overnight, which means those in the known, knew there will be a market for such gimmicks.

Haven't had a heat issue with mine. But then again never had an issue with all the Titans, 3090s, 4090s, and now 5090s I installed in racks and workstations (never to run games, the way it's actually intended!) either. Despite the alarms here about them if it was bad I'd have seen it by now.

In IT the problem is usually the end user. In everything gaming or PC related the problem is always the PC GAMER. PC gaming is a running gag outside of it's fanatics for very good reasons and none are reasons you'd want to be known by. Hell child porn and molestation is one of them and there is proof to back that up vs other gaming communities.

I accept the opinion.

But saying an overheating issue in Summer on a new game console is an user issue is very bold.
After 6 or 12 months the user may be required to change thermal paste. I think the switch 2 is not that long on the market.
For that purpose the device should be build in that way that is has no need for any user service or easy Do it yourself user service.

Look, it's a handheld gaming device. Making the case out of copper and slapping a 120mm fan on it isn't appropriate or user friendly although I'm sure some super geniuses here at TPU would think that would be the appropriate course of action.

Presumably Nintendo will release a system software update that will change the thermal response, maybe throttling down the device at a lower temperature threshold and/or reducing performance.

It's important to note that the majority of "overheating" testimonies come from people who have been using the device DOCKED not in handheld mode. So this third-party cooler would do nothing to remedy that. But I'm sure JSAUX will sell a few of these regardless to worrywarts and miscellaneous gullible nitwits.

My guess is in a month or two further investigation will show that the vast majority of these overheating Switch 2 units were in closed (glassed-in) media cabinets or other places where where proper air circulation was not provided.

Nintendo knew what they were getting into. How long have they been making videogame machines? Decades? How many handheld gaming devices have they marketed? And how long has Japan had hot summers? Before the Japanese archipelago was inhabited by humans? This is not Nintendo's first rodeo. I'd bet a buffalo nickel that Nintendo tested prototypes in more situations than an air-conditioned lab.
