Cyberpunk 2077 Update v2.3 Brings FSR 4, XeSS Frame Generation, VRR for Consoles, and Much More

Talk about beating a dead horse... dayum
The dead horse got more people playing it than many recent AAA games. They probably see how active the community is, hence why they still have a small team working on the game

If it's between XeSS 2 and FSR 3.1, I would take the slight perf hit and pick XeSS 2 almost every time.

Probably so, I already play Ultra at a decent framerate, would gladly jump to Native TAA, but performance hit on a 6800 XT is like 30% in CP2077. I guess XeSS Ultra Quality will be my choice anyway, but who knows, let's see.

From the Cyberpunk forums:
"Patch 2.3 DOES NOT include FSR 3.1 Upscaling, only FSR FG 3.1.
Included FSR versions are still FSR 2.1 and 3.0.
The game STILL wants to restart when you enable FG."

I just refuse to believe it... Cannot check it as I'm still at work.

Doesn't it have to support FSR 3.1 in order for FSR 4 to work? I thought FSR 4 required the FSR 3.1 input API to be present. That's how most if not all current FSR 4 titles work. The Radeon driver detects FSR 3.1 and automatically enables FSR 4 driver side, it's not presented as an actual FSR 4 option in-game.

Supposedly. Maybe somebody smarter than me explains this.

The FSR is certainly nice, but that should be it - just a small technical / bug fixing update. Instead, they add some irrelevant tidbits and the media puffs it all up as a big deal. Clever play, no doubt.

FSR 4 currently requires FSR 3.1 in order to work, but that doesn't mean the game's graphics settings has to expose an FSR 3.1 option at all. So a game could provide FSR 3.0 and FSR 4.0 if it's toggled on via a supported driver, but not FSR 3.1. There's a video from Ancient Gameplays testing FSR 4, but it turns out he only had the option show because he previously had Optiscaler installed. Let's wait for the official drivers.

I watched the video, I'll settle for XeSS 2.0 then.

I got more FPS in the benchmark with XeSS 2.0 than I ever did before with the same ultra settings, minus RT, pretty much.

Oh yay another trash update from CDPR thank dog there's a thriving mod community on the Nexus to atleast give the game a little more life and things to do

The download went trash before I simply choose the uninstall option and reinstalled it, as if I haven't installed it yet. I got 2.3 afterwards.

It failed to start correctly, seeing mostly no activity, with blips of 1 Mb. :wtf:

HUH why are you replying to me what I said and what you said are two totally different things I was talking about the update doing feck all for the game where as you're pissin n moaning about a bad download completely different things :kookoo:

My Steam downloads usually aren't slow, much less stalling like that. I also saw Steam acting like the download was successful. So, I had to use the uninstall option and then select install, like when it wasn't installed yet.

This may be why some have a broken CP2077 installation.

Yes, the patch has those things in it, but as usual, AMD marketing never missing a chance to f everything up, have not released the new Adrenalin (sp?) driver update that was meant to coincide with the release of patch 2.3. When those drivers are eventually released the new FSR options will show up in the game's settings menu.

But my installation isn't broken it's just a do nothing patch to appease the superficial masses who care about taking "Photos" in game well big friggin woop oh and a few miscellaneous bug fixes CDPR haven't listened to anything their customers have asked about like some more gigs for night city more DLC's
