Redragon has announced its latest full-size mechanical gaming keyboard in the Antonius K745 Pro, which features a surprisingly enthusiast-friendly design, wireless connectivity, and custom switches designed by Redragon to give the keyboard a "creamy" sound profile. The K745 Pro follows a traditional full-size layout, with 104 keys, and offers a row of four customizable shortcut keys above the num pad. This is largely the same layout featured in keyboards like the Keychron Q6 Max, and there are other similarities as well, like the retro-style double-shot PBT keycaps and the rear-mounted hardware switches for macOS/Windows mode selection and connectivity mode selection. The K745 Pro offers tri-mode connectivity, with 2.4 GHz, Bluetooth 3.0/5.0, and USB Type-C wired, and the wireless connectivity is backed up by a 4,000 mAh battery, although Redragon makes no battery life claims.

The Antonius K745 is decidedly a budget mechanical keyboard, especially by enthusiast standards, with an MSRP of just $64.99 and an early bird price of $51.99. Given the relatively low price, the K745 features a plastic case to keep costs down, but Redragon has still opted to include five layers of sound damping material (PO foam, IXPE switch foam, PET sound pad, bottom socket foam, and a silicone bottom pad). Interestingly, the switch plate is made of polycarbonate, which is again generally reserved for higher-end mechanical keyboards, and the case features a gasket mount design with TPR gaskets to isolate noise and cushion the typing feel somewhat. The Mint Mambo switches used in the K745 are lightweight, factory-lubed linear switches with 40 gf actuation force.

The K745 uses proper hot-swap sockets—none of that Mill-Max nonsense that limited compatibility—meaning it is hot-swappable with support for most common 3- and 5-pin MX-style switches. The K745 Pro also has two stage flip-out feet for those who prefer a steeper typing angle. While the keyboard is also customizable and supports key remapping and macro functionality, it is only customizable using Redragon's proprietary Pro Software, which is only available for Windows. It also features south-facing RGB backlighting, which offers improved compatibility with thicker Cherry-profile keycaps but sacrifices the quality of the backlighting when using traditional shine-through keycaps. The stock keycaps are not shine-through, so this will only affect those looking to mod their keyboard.

C'mon Redragon, I just need this 100% layout with Hall Effect switches and less than $80 USD.

I like this keyboard! Another winner from Redragon! Hoping for a low profile version like the Horus k618/k619.

I think they're working on an optical switch keyboard, but I have no idea when(if?) it'll be available.

If it was using QMK/VIA i would insta buy. Heck, if it was using a web-app I would be considering this even if not QMK/VIA but using a propriety software i have to install is a fuck no.

They did make a 96% keyboard (GHOSTBLADE K735) that does use magnetic switches (hall effect) but I do want one with a proper full 100% layout.

To me this would be an instant deal-breaker.

There's nothing wrong with Redragon's utility apps. It would be nice if they were unified, but still. They only run when needed and are not intrusive.

I have one of their keyboard and its not bad for the price(given it has been going strong for over 3 years at this point).
I have several, they are very good. I'm typing on one of them now. The above mentioned Horus K618 with red switches.

I did not know about that one! Nice! With you on the 100% layout. Also want volume control keys(up/down/mute). Link below for those who might be interested.

Perfectly understandable.

On a sidenote, it's good seeing Redragon finally start to embrace the things (at least a few of them, those keycaps for example, are a hard no) which seperate a decent keyboard from e-waste.

I'm curious why you take issue with the keycaps. They look very similar to Keychron's OSA profile, and I like those well enough. Better than normal OEM, at least.
