EA recently confirmed that it has no intention of increasing prices for its AAA gaming experiences, and that claim has just been backed up by leaks that Battlefield 6 will launch with a starting price of $69.99. According to prolific leaker, @billbil_kun on X, the new shooter will be available in both digital and physical versions for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series, with identical pricing across all three platforms. Battlefield 6 digital edition will cost $69.99, while the newly added physical edition will cost $99.99.

Additional reports out of Insider Gaming also point to upcoming closed and open beta tests for Battlefield 6 in August. The first, the closed beta test, will run from August 7-8, while the open beta will take place on August 9-10. There will also supposedly be a second open beta from August 14-17. The reports indicate that access to the beta tests will be limited to those who pre-order the game. EA and DICE have scheduled a "Battlefield 6 Official Multiplayer Gameplay Reveal Event" livestream on YouTube for July 31 at 11:30 AM PT (8:30 PM CEST), and it seems likely that the beta dates will be announced during this livestream. Battlefield 6 is slated to launch on October 10, 2025.

Is this the price of new games these days? Man I'm glad I never get my games on release.

I have too many games in my steam account i have paid £49.99 or £59.99 for. Tbh i don't really mind that much, if the game is good.

Agreed. Paid 85 EUR for DOOM The Dark Ages and 75 EUR for S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 - Heart Of Chornobyl, both "deluxe" top-tier versions and I pretty much enjoy in both games so no regrets for a single cent spent on those. Same thing will be with BF6, if it will be good and have a good singleplayer campaign how BFBC2 and BF3 had, then why not.

I think the key point is a "starting price" of $69.99. It's EA, so I'm expecting them to upsell a bunch of things as DLC.
In order for BF6 to have a good multiplayer it needs custom servers and a server browser, not just skill based matchmaking.

Bought the game pass ultimate and there is no problem )

highest i pay for any game is 39.99, games like test drive sc and mindsunfinishedeye just proves my point more and more that games are not worth the sales price when release. I don't mind waiting for a year or too for the price to drop. i have 630 pc games. I'm good. I will be playing the open beta when it drops though.

missed the last batch of BF , hope this one is as good as a Hybrid BF2/BF4 = :) Maybe i hook up with my old clan [FB] ..

$100 for the "physical edition". Bet it comes with a digital key linked to Steam.....maybe EA.

It's EA with BF. There will be the Premium edition/pack.

$70 means it isn't infested with microtransactions right? RIGHT?... riiiight.

Not that i was planning to support EA, my last game was Bad Company 2 and i'd like to leave it at that banger.

it will be to the brim full of hackers within three days.

Do you see "PC" anywhere near that?

Do you see "console only" anywhere near that?
