It appears Microsoft has contracted the Saratoga, California firm, Gyration to develop a motion-sensitive add-on for the existing Xbox 360 controller. It is no accident that Gyration is the company responsible for the prototype designs of the Nintendo Wii-mote, which we all know has become a huge success. Most recently, the company was in the spotlight for creating a motion-sensing remote for Microsoft's Media Center. There're no details on when exactly the new motion-sensing Xbox 360 controller will see light. The company denied the rumour saying that "Microsoft does not comment on rumors or speculation" and that there's "nothing further to share." at least for now.

Retarded.

Edit: I remember how MS claimed the Wiimote is nothing but a gimmick (I totally agree with them btw). If MS is going to do motion sensing, they better do it right, because Sixaxis and the wiimote is a joke.

dunno man i hate the ps3 sixaxis its has really bad movement fells flimsy, the wii mote seems like a gimmick stuck onto a xbox 1 spec console, motion sensing is very frustrating when it moves slightly or dosnt move at all

6axis is titl controlled tho i think but same thing anyway, this new controller forces to buy one wat if we want to do mulit player with these we will have to update our controllers

btw anyone try out that board that goes onto the xbox 360 battery space that makes it tilt control sounds like this tbh

bull shit i dont want to pay extra to play a game and its obvious that microsoft are liars now as they said they wouldnt release a motion sensing controller for the 360

Well this is probably a crap move. The Wiimote isn't so bad, but SiXaxis or whatever they call it now is a pile of crap. I tried steering with it on F1 2007, and my choices of direction were extreme left or right - there was no way to go in a straight line...

What's new. Microsoft has always been the richest copy-cat in the world. Starting from the GUI.

well it certainly doesnt work nearly as fluidly as the wiimote.;);)

I agree with what Dangle said though in that Microsoft had better do it right:):)

motion sensing is a very huge technology that still has a lot of room to grow and mature so the longer Microsoft takes to do this the better off the technology will be for xbox 360 owners:rockout::rockout::rockout::rockout:

Lol? Not as fluidly as the Wii remote? I doubt you've ever used Sixaxis on a PS3, and you're just making false claims. Not only does Sixaxis work just as well, I would say it works better because you don't have to be INFRONT of the console itself to use Sixaxis.

Agreed Ravenas. A good example is in MLB 2K7. In order to swing and such, you have to use the controller like a Wiiremote. Push forward lightly, its a tap, harder, its a power swing. Tilt the controller up 30Degrees while pushing hard, homerun, down while hard, bouncing chopper, etc.

Heavenly Sword also has very good sixaxis gameplay thrown in from time to time. Resistance: Fall of Man takes good use of the sixaxis when trying to get away from an enemy that's grappling you. Warhawk has a total sixaxis setup that you can turn on or off.

Sony's sixaxis is perfect the way it is. Sony incorporates motion control when its adds something fun and something interactive, without making you take it in HUGE dosages like the Wii does (this also helps to calm and satisfy the curiosity of the Wii motion type gameplay ) The fact that the Wii is mostly all motion controlled is where Nintendo messed up. As long as Microsoft realizes this with their motion setup they will continue to do well.

Ive used it before and it just doesnt feel very natural to me like the wiimote does:slap::slap:

Shows how much you know what I know ravenas

It may feel natural to you with the PS3 controller over the wiimote but I dont have the same opinion on that. It all depends on each persons opinion and how they like to hold a controller

dosnt anyone remember the stupid sidewinder controllers for the pc that where just nazi axis controllers really truley shit noone wanted them and they were pricy

nazi axis is dumbass i tried to play motorstorm and the sensing was fucked a slight touch didnt move and a huge touch was to much and there was the fact i felt like a total diddy doing it

felt like i hard car driving syndrome i dunno what the real name is but its when people move the pad like a real car and do the pedals with their feet without actual pedals being their or pull back the controller when braking and turn it like a steering wheel
