sounds good and evrything, and im sure its the cream of the 3850 crop, but whats the point when itl probably be priced at 3870 level. may as well get better performing 3870

Unless they are prepared to price it the same as other 3850's people will just buy a 3870 instead.

Same here.... the 3870 might still be worth it in the long run.
 
Well if that cooler is worth anything I got my HD 3850's core speeds past HD 3870 speeds so the faster memory might help.
 
why the hype about .8ns DDR3 when you can just buy a card with DDR4??? and I bet everyone is right about it costing the same as a 70.

Oh well, I am sure they will still sell them :)

yah but can you get your core higher than 3870 owners can get there core? and the ddr4 memory on the 3870 clocks up very well, im at 900/1414(2828) stable in all games

Well I most say that this card looks interesting enough. Here is my experience. I own a HIS 3850 Ic3Q turbo (not turboX). Yesterday I ran it at 835Mhz Clock and 1060Mhz memory. I am not much of a gamer, but with these timings I managed to get 10473 points in 3dmark06, and the card was stable. It never went hotter than 63 degree celcius. There is probably some head room left, espacially on the memory clock. I do not know what type of memory is used on my video card, but I know that for a 3850 it does clock verry well. Performance is way better than my 2X XFX 8600GT 256Meg SLI set-up. I most admit that I do prefer my Ic3Q cooling solution over the Asus, as it gets the hot air out of the case, alowing for lower inside case temps, wich means lower CPU temps.

What did you set your volts at for the HD 3850, I got the same card and I cant get past 780mhz core :(
 
ShadowFold, i have not touched the video cards voltage (I don't know how). I only played with the ati overdrive software. I did not think it was possible to get it past 780Mhz after reading some reviews. I was verry surprised that it did not crash or lockup my system during th test. I tried the auto tune option and my system locked up at 865Mhz on the GPU clock. After rebooting, I put it to 835Mhz and ran 3dMark06.

I have a problem with my HDTV output, but I don't use it (I use the DVI to HDMI with a HDtv as monitor I LOVE the onboard audio with HDMI), but my GPU clocks so well that I will keep the card
