Pirate Bay Faces Charges, Owners Could Face Two Years Behind Bars, Safe Regardless

You know, that makes me think -- I haven't bought a CD in years, and I've never purchased a DVD, yet I like paying money for live shows and I love going to movie theaters.

You listening, MPAA/RIAA? Get the drift?

they get it - that's why the record labels are trying to get a cut of musician's concert sales.....so you can expect those prices to get even worse

I read a bit about this story yesterday in Wired and a few other places

I was just about to use piratebay to download a dvdrip today and then I see this post. You cant stop pirating, only possible way to stop that is to take all freedom away and force everyone to use 56k.

And yea, I dont buy CDs anymore because for 1, I listen to mixtapes half the time that are found on the net. The music industry is lame and needs to recreate themselves instead of blaming everything on everyone else.

im more or less like you -

I'l admit that ive downloaded enough music to run a radio station for almost over over a weeks worth of non stop music - non stop meaning minus the DJ, no adds, no DJ's just music.

but as soon as i hear one of my favorite artists touring somewhere where I can get to without selling a kidney i'l be there as much as I can. I'l even buy 2 sets of tickets so I can seem them live twice at the same place. (yes OCD can do baaaaaaadd things you your wallet) I cant speak for people/websites in the US but here in the UK even tho online MP3 pricing has dropped we still pay more then 20pence or more, more then everyone else who doesnt live in the UK.

Apple Does it, Napster does it, Im sure every other online MP3 sales site does the exact same thing shafting UK consumers.

the funny thing is Apple tried to incorporate a script which detects what region your from & blocks you from accessing a foreign region for their cheaper downloads. whether or not the implemented this script is beyond my knowledge but you still see where im coming from.

lol what # attempt is this to kill TPB?

Well there still running and im happy about that me <3 the pirate bay :D

ahh! sadness. good to know about multiple servers :D

I have to agree with all of you, DVDs are FAR too overpriced. Some of you know how Anime these days is in HD format right? Well see this, the DVDs that come out aren't even HD and have massively degraded quality compared to the "Illegal" rips that you can torrent. And with movies, the problem is quality, yet again. With DVDs still hovering around 20 bucks, its no wonder why nobody buys them, remember guys that a movie ticket + DVD itself costs no more than $10.

The RIAA, MPAA, and the other recording labels/anti piracy corps should review what they are doing. If DVDs were $10 each I'd buy them, but thats not the case.

this is slightly off topic but ill say it neway.
if tpb manage to buy an island in the future like the admins plan on doing.
ill consider moving there (provided that they gots fast internet :D )

as for this i use tbp/i dont use it talk
why waste time? i use orbs torrent site tracker.
20 (or so) sites searched simultaniously for you. its heaps convienent.
itd suck if the site got taken down, or even if the admins get prosecuted.
imo whatshisface (the main owner) is a ledgend :D
