After hosting several public and private betas of Windows Vista SP1, it would seem as though the final code is finally ready. In fact, the code has supposedly been leaked and put on various torrents. When questioned as to whether or not the leaked code is final, Microsoft people didn't really have much to say. Regardless of whether or not pirates got a hold of SP1, Microsoft declared they made an RTM code earlier today. It is unclear whether or not they will release it today, but sources agree that a launch is imminent.

I havent found any leaked final SP on any torrent??? If its true, could someone point me in the right direction??? :) Thx.

how about waiting a few days insted of downloading some virus infested trojan witch then links you to a web page to download the the codec to run it.... :p

as above tbh haze :)

The 'leak' is probably just the SP1 beta that Microsoft released with the 'Evaluation Version' message removed

Yeah propably. Im using the refresh2 now, it works perfectly so im happy with that. But would be fun to test some final sp1 code. There is a safe way to test software, ever heard about Virtualization??? :) VmWare or Virtualbox... Perfect for downloaded content... :)

Good news, I'm ready to get the final version for my PC.

finally..hopefully microsoft did something good with vista this time :toast:

Apparently it wont be till next month for us average jo blows.

do you have to pay extra for a service pack? or is it free?

sorry I haven't been in the business of buying OS

It should be free,i expect.Pay for a service pack.....not me.

It will be available thru windows update in March and in April for ppl like me who have auto update set.

yea should be free, but then you ever know...

i'm still running XP - don't have the expendable funds to upgrade an OS just yet.

Youll have sp3 for xp to look forward to in the not to distant future wl.

yea I know, will just be a massive security fix package with a few optimizers. still any improvement is appreciated.

however the way things are going - i might skip Vista all together and go with this new code named windows 7. although I'm sure vista has its benefits that i may enjoy later on in the future if i win the lottery and have oodols of cash. :)
