While some in America, particularly the crowd on Wall Street, would tell you that America is facing a depression, anyone who chose a career field in I.T. would beg to differ. The average salary for anyone involved with I.T. reached record proportions, or $32.39 an hour, to be precise. However, the firm that performed the analysis warns that everything is not well in the world of I.T. careers. These record salaries are the end of a growth spurt in I.T. salaries, and already growth is slowing down. Over the past year, several large companies announced lay-offs, showing that less people to pay may have had a large affect on these salaries. If you're a high school junior and trying to decide what to do with the rest of your life, assuming you want to go into I.T., or you're much older and want a career change, you'll be happy to know that there is a demand for SAP talent, project managers, and data warehousing skills.

Education IT as well is on the rise, many colleges are getting rid of on site courses in favor of online ones. And as always regardless of the economy, the education system stays pretty stable.

Wonder if that includes stuff like Geek Squad and those kind of jobs.
That would prob. bring that average down since they dont get paid that much.

I am thinking of coming to USa and learn to be a network engineer ,network admin, hardware engineer or something.I'm thinking of going to college first then Uni.Is it feels OK with this news??I'm not sothat well in English and google :(

SAP is VERY expensive, and... to be honest, it is a huge mess. I personally would not recommend it. :banghead:

But it is huge.
Most places look for SAP since there are sooo little resources and sooo many companies use it.

we are actually facing a possible recession, not a depression. that is a BIG difference.

Here is link to SAP's website: http://www.sap.com/usa/index.epx

SAP is kind of hard to describe... a German based company put together many commonly used software packages (payroll, inventory management, etc) and then sold them. You can alter the code (to a limit) or write new programs to fit your needs. The prices are ridiculous, and the yearly support cost is just as bad. Normally, when you buy a software package you do not need an entire IT staff to support it.

I still think that an in-house IT department developing systems for a company is far more beneficial... I know that it is much easier on support and future upgrades. :)
