Not wanting to miss out on its chance to share ASUS's surprising success, ECS is now planning an 11" competitor to the Eee PC. The G10IL will be a sub $500 notebook with three USB 2.0 ports, Ethernet, a VGA connection and built in HSDPA (high-speed downlink packet access). So far no other hard specs such as processor speed or memory have been given, but WiFi and Bluetooth are both quite likely. Like the Eee PC there will be no built-in optical drive.

Name isn't the best I guess, but I like the HSDPA Feature, wheee~

Uh-oh... look out ASUS, here comes ECS...

well ECS is a great brand yall, so ASUS prolly is worried, in the budget world they are god

I wouldn't speak of ECS as a great company, but at least they go for mobile internet.
Does the US have HSDPA yet? I mean, besides the big cities?
I'm not familiar with US mobile networks, heh.

(Great as in: Can play on the same level as the top companies)

ECS ... oh noes, look out assus, major suck headed your way ....

ECS makes low end stuff so the Eee PC market is right up their alley.

but for 499 you can get a dell with a celeron proc in it that is alot better and bigger than this...or the eepc.

I think id prefer the Eee for reason i just love em.

i personally want one, easier to carry around i hate my inspiron 6400
