Hey all,
I was looking around and was interested in the Athllon 64 3700+ CPU.
But then I started thinking and was wondering is it worth it to get an equivalent CPU but the Opteron and what would be equivalent to the 3700+?

it would be an opteron clocked at 2.2 gig.. of there is such thing it would identical to the 3700 1 meg cache chip anyways..

trog

ps.. i think it would be a 148..

i doubt it they will both be sandy core FX57 type chips in different boxes.. my 3700 runs 2.8 gig on default voltages.. not much point in selecting chips to run at 2.2 when the entire line runs that well.. i think they had a good yield with that one.. he he..

trog

ps.. thow the new egg stuff does say a different core.. venus as opposed to san diego.. dont seem a deal of point in amd useing a "lesser" part in its Flagship FX range to me thow..

u have to laff at some of those user comments.. bunch of dorks who quite clearly aint got the faintest idea.. he he he

"Cons: slows pretty bad on games but i just think thats my video card (Radeon 9550) and ram (PC3200 PNY Optima 2x512MB)"
