Rockstar Games' Grand Theft Auto IV is almost certain to become one of the biggest hits of 2008, and now some details about the game's online capabilities have finally been released. According to Spain's official PlayStation magazine, the game will support up to 16 players on one server, offering a choice of 15 different game modes. Each of the modes will be set in the single player maps, with options including deathmatches, races, mafia work, turf wars, cops 'n' crooks, car jack city, bomb da base II and free mode. GTA IV is scheduled for release on both Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 on 29th April, although the online features may vary on each console. As you would expect, options such as weapon selection, police interference and traffic density can all be modified.

Cops and crooks sounds cool, i used to love playing as the cops in NFS hot pursuit! I hope they have spike strips, that is always great value. set up road blocks and blow the f**k out of some bad guys, that would be great. if I ever needed an excuse to buy a PS3, GTAIV is it.

Online co op and thats it all other game mods will be crap coz the GTA games have crap camera, movement and shooting.

GTA is usually good for a week then the novelty of killing people and getting cars where's off. The previous games had boring missions tedious at times.
Lets not forget it had bad driving.

The game was big but kinda wasnt open ended coz you had to do certain missions to get the next set ect ect and to the next island.

Itll be all hype like the last one was, im waiting for Rainbow 6 Vegas 2 that will be a good online game.

GTA4 is nothing like the previous GTA's. Its camera angles been fixed according to previews, movement is fresh and smooth due to Euphoria, and shooting is better with the Gears of War shooting, and cover system.

The missions are great! I found them fun and challenging. You have to play the game reckless and fast to have fun, don't be careful and avoid heat. The new physics, according the previews, say the cars handle well.

The game was big but kinda wasnt open ended coz you had to do certain missions to get the next set ect ect and to the next island.

That is there so you can engage in the story line. Or you have people just doing random crap.

Itll be all hype like the last one was, im waiting for Rainbow 6 Vegas 2 that will be a good online game.

GTA3, VC, and SA all live to its hype, no game has yet to match its concept and proportions of the game during its time.

Now with that squared away, another GTA4 news is that a new trailer called "Good Lord, What Are You Doing?" aka "Everyone's a Rat" <---last trailer...is coming on March 27th...

EDIT:

Lol. You Fail!

Geez someone's hard to please! I for one still get a kick out of taking a machine gun and destroying everything in sight. And what was wrong with the driving? It was nice and unrealistic, as it should be. And sure, the missions can get tedious after a while, but what do you expect for a game that takes about 4 million hours to clock?

It will, several months after the console release. It's already been announced by Rockstar. I'm playing San Andreas on my PC right now and gotta say it looks 10x better and playing is 10x better than on playstation.

Oh yeah, the RC missions are still annoying as hell b/c of controls and camera angles.

Can't wait for GTA4.

Bleh, GTA is one of the worst games ever. However, I think my nephew will love hearing about this, so thanks.

Lets take Serious Sam 2 it was everything you described GTA as excpet really big in level design. Well what about Morrowind does that count as really big?

I just found it boring after a while sure you could just go about and do what you wanted fucking about stealing cars and killing people but it got BORING, some of the missions where just boring like taking people to places and having to blow up a certain car am mean how genius is that.

I fail coz i dont like the any GTA after the PS1 games? Mate its pure preference.

My point being was it was hardly open ended and free roaming if you had to do certain stuff.

Lets see if the new one lives up to its hype coz i never say a game is such and such if i havnt played it before.

I base most of my purchases on reviews anyway not hype or coz it has some feature.

THIS GAME IS GONNA OOOOOOWN, wish it wasnt on the 360 for this reason only, so they can use the whole blu-ray disc with more shit and it'll probably have more enemies on the same street or what not.....Thats how I see this any ways but people might not agree with me oh well

I like GTA, but I don't think it meets the hype it gets. I personally think the San Andres story line was boring and just always felt like a grind to me. If they get rid of that grind feel with this one I will be happy.

well, my favorite GTA's are when they're in liberty city, just cause it looks like new york and its huge environments. Vice City was great as well, San Andreas had the ability to do more with its environments. like the part *SPOILER*(if no one has played it) When you have to fly the jet to Liberty City that was so awesome! The story line for San Andreas was pretty decent, friends told me "the talking is so confusing", but Im sure that was a racist comment. I didnt find the language hard to follow at ALL, yeah and the story line was pretty boring.
