The PLAYSTATION 3's redesigned DUALSHOCK 3 wireless controllers are currently shipping to North American retailers and are expected to appear on shelves by next week, according to a post on the official PlayStation.Blog. The DUALSHOCK 3 wireless controller includes pressure sensors that rumble with each action. SIXAXIS technology is also included, so you can still use motion control, and the controller features Bluetooth technology for wireless gameplay. The titles that support the rumble feature will require a patch (DUALSHOCK 3 Compatibility Chart). The patch will automatically download to your PS3 if your console is connected online. You can pick up the DUALSHOCK 3 controller for $54.99 MSRP.

in this day n' age everyrhing is expensive....the wii's controllers n the 360's total up to about the same

I can see why controllers are soo much more expensive these days.

In the PS3 controller you have:
Motion Sensor (used in games like Heavenly Sword)
Wireless w/ no to little input lag
Long Battery Life
The ability to Start and Shut Down the System

Hence the PS2 controller had none of this (except the wireless for some).

i just dont get it i mean seriously ok so motion sensor is nice.....but i can buy a remote for my ps2 that can shut off my system and my controller + the remote is cheaper than that...their lovely features and im in no way arguing but like i dont thihki sony played this right....FE the systems granted were probably baought by parents for children as kids probably make up alot of the market for the ps3 and as such at $60 thats easily half of the paycheck that todays teenagers get. i think it will hit sony because kids who are saving for cars or collage arent going to drop $60 on a controller with sweet wireless that doesnt drop out so they can play God of war from their bathroom with a bunch of mirrors set up.

I love my wireless controllers for my PS2, but I don't like the PS3 right yet, so I can't say if I'd buy it or not.. But, I'll make sure My dad knows and he can buy 4! lol

looks spiffy. i may get that if dell offers it since i have 2x$100 promo gift cards to use.

Its ridiculously priced. I mean, 110 bucks for 2 controllers. Thats almost the price of 2 games (120 bucks). Seriously, this needs to be rethunk! 39.99 is about as much for a controller as one should expect to pay. Doubtful that technology costs as much as they are marking up the controller.

and they say its costly to get a decent gaming rig these days, if i wanted to play with 4 friends on these things it would cost me $240 thats just ridiculous, i would never pay over 30 for a controller, and it should never cost as much as the game you play it with

Haha, got mine from a japanese retailer for $52.44 shipped and all.

dont the others have pressure sensors too? Whats the improvement on this?
