The long awaited Futuremark 3DMark Vantage will be released on April 22nd it has been learned from a picture posted on PCPOP.com. Most notably 3DMark Vantage will differ from previous 3DMark video benchmarks with its DirectX 10 API. DirectX 10 support also means the program will work on Windows Vista only. When started 3DMark Vantage will run through three tests to determine your PC's performance - Jane Nash, Calico and Aeroplanes. If your PC is equipped with an AGEIA PhysX card, there will be a fourth test for physics only. The full list of all NVIDIA/ATI video cards capable of running 3DMark Vantage can be found here. An online test to see if your PC is up to the task for 3DMark vantage is also running online.

You want something that will push your old GTS to the max, then try Crysis at very high...no need to wait for 3DMark Vantage. ;)

It aint gonna push nothing to the max on your PC unless you get Vista

about time!
been waiting for this for way to long! cant wait to give it a go....new world standard ^
edit: haha that ss looks like a Chinese restaurant menu....

It would be good comedy if i tried it lol

:D :toast:
Yeez, CRYSIS is the best game for test your system 3D performance

But I want to see the new spacebattle scene in the new 3DMark :)

BUT WHY VISTA ONLY????????

Malware; I forgot about crysis, as do have that game and i do play at veryhigh... stupid me.

Tatty_One; I have Vista. I just dual boot between XP 64bit and Vista 64bit. But XP is my main OS.

But still, i can't wait!

Update specs? :D

It makes perfect sense as to why its vista only, its a true dx10 benchmark. Futuremarks mission is to be on the cutting edge and essentially predict what games will be like over the next couple years. I'm afraid all you windows XP users are going to have to accept the fact you're slowly falling behind. Though forced progress does kinda suck :P

It better be or i wont be able to run it at all

I'll think about it :P

I will be switching to Vista as my main OS here soon.

I wonder how big the download will be, and i hope they have got more bandwidth than when 3dmark06 came out as i remember that day was very slow for speeds.

I will not be switching to Vista just for a benchie... I just need a dx10 card first...

Shame it doesn't run on Windows XP. Can't be bothered installing Vista just to benchmark with 3dmark Vantage :)

there might be a more pressing reason to switch to vista than the latest 3dmark.. having just tried the 8.4 cats in XP crossfire.. just like the 8.3s the f-ckers dont work in XP..

trog

yall are going to have to except the fact that xp was an awesome OS... but its time to move on..we cant use xp forever now

well this is good news!
glad i just upgraded to vista 64bit... im sure it will run quite nicely on there with a few upgrades :)

(hoping that its 64bit compatible, but im sure it will be, after all this is to define gaming systems for the next few years)

with the system in your specs you should have nothing to worry about :toast:

WOOOT! All right! Finally I can start benching my PC! 3Dmark 06 doesn't install on my vista64 pc.

I seriously doubt that :P Even though I can get 13k in 3dmark 06, its still jumpy and slow... so im sure this will bring it to its knees completely.

The future of gaming (as gaming / hardware manufacturers want us to believe) is multi-core, multi Gpu... and i only got 1 mid range GPU ;)
