ASUS Preps EN9600GT Matrix Video Card

ASUS is preparing to unveil a number of new products during the upcoming Computex 2008, but one of them deserves special attention. Named ASUS EN9600GT Matrix, this will be a tricked out GeForce 9600GT video card equipped with a specially designed hybrid cooler. The custom dual-slot cooler of the card consists of a large aluminum heatsink with heatpipes and a fan that will start working only when the card runs 3D applications or the temperature rises considerably. Besides all this, the new card will come with a black PCB, single DVI and HDMI outputs and optical sound output. Clock speeds are still unknown, but the EN9600GT Matrix is very likely to be highly overclocked, considering the big cooler and the Republic of Gamers badge on its fan. More information about the card will be unveiled during Computex 2008.

i wish i was part of the republic of gamers id totally hook them up with some ideas.....and id willingly show them what to mod

its always been my dream to be part of like an OC team ya know like palit or something were someone gave me parts to show them what they could do and sponser them and stuff not because of the free parts id probably burn out more than i could use anyway but i think i could seriously change peoples perceptions on how far hardware can go.

maybe ill get serious into team TPU see if me and some of the other members will kick it up a notch cards like this are awsome and im so glad the market is changing to recognize that high end users want more...even if they cant afford the tools like a soldering iron etc...i dont see a time far away from now where were given cards like the one above pre lapped pre volt modded hand selected diff ns ram than "standard" versions built in VR pots so people can vmod them stock ahhh the days of high end part buying.

You need to write letters to some manufacturers! Perhaps get a couple ice-pots while you're at it. I really like the cards looks (to be feeble), the cooler is very unique looking and black works for me!

i mean i consider myself part of a vast community and i like to think i have a good idea of what people want and wrighting a letter of ra test build cant be that hard our very own pyro wrote letters and got all sorts of stuff to test out and keep i think i want to do that i mean imagine REAL performance tests not from some shady site written in bad japanese but a real guy in his own house testing things the way people want them to be tested.

The cooler is big because when in 2D/low temp, the cooling is passive. And a large heatsink means that there's no rapid heating (or even rapid cooling). Rapid temperature changes damage components. Nice cooler.

This graphics card is hands down the best I've seen yet. It performs within spitting distance of the 8800GT yet it's cheaper and runs cooler. What more could you ask for?

Those are prefixes that ASUS use to mark its cards:

EN = PCI-E N (NVIDIA) Series
ЕА = PCI-E A (ATI) Series

Its always the high-mid range that gets all these fancy aesthetic enhancements. Its to bad that dont make a beefier version thats a 9800. Although Asus's Dual 7800GT was quite nice.

It's the reference NVIDIA heatsink made by Flextronics. It will fit on the NVIDIA reference design PCB for the 9600 GT.
