R700 Crossfire X Scaling Efficiency up to 104 %

Interesting they didn't show that Nvidia loving game which reduces performance in Crossfire named Crysis . It would have been interesting if AMD finally found a way around that .

well Crysis is dead in the water as of support from the Creators, so to me its just something to not rate when other games perform way better, even ones from EA which are not that well optimized. It also doesnt support Multicards well either, Max PC did a Review of their zeropoint with their latest Dream Machine and Crysis Scored the Same for both systems where other games Outscored their Zero Point Considerably

Link not working .

Hello guys
At last I found a way enable CF in Crysis with my HD3870 CF.
yep there is not Crisys patch, CF hotfix yet and I still don't know what is the exactly cause.
Anyway I have resolved enable CF in Crysis and tested it. Here is my tested Benchmark with HD3870.

CF performance in Crysis and how to enable CF

how to enable CF in Crysis ? It was very simple
If your CF mode works well (example 3Dmarks ) download Crysis SP DEMO and installed it. There is folder your hard diskCrysis\game\config

then copy Crysis SP DEMO config folder and overwrite it in your installed retail crysis/game/config folder.
now test your CF. some guys tested it and worked very well.

to see Benchmark result Visit the link

I hope your crossfire works well

:P

Thanks for the link Zithe. Awesome to see the scaling. If yall read the MaximumPC article about the dream machine, where they have two of these 4870x2s, it managed 29 fps with their uber rig. the Gtx280 also had 29 fps....

*not buying the hype* While video perf isn't physics, more than 100% is calling for a BS flag to be thrown. There's always inefficiences, so 90% I'd buy, 104, not a chance in hell. Unless of course they're cheating.

yea thinking same thing, there is no way to get over 99% effecient

COD4 crossfire 4870s. In many reviews it is over 100%. They're probably referring to performance in that game.

Yeah, calling it efficiency is just not a good way to word it. No electronic device can perform to its maximum efficiency. If anything, they are just referring to the performance of one card compared to 2 cards. But that's why its called scaling. DMC is an ATi-loving game even though NV have their sig in it. But why would anyone want to play it at 200+ fps when its perfectly maxed out at 100+ fps on a 3870x2  Its just a weird thing to do in buying 2 of these just to play at framerates you don't even notice on selected games - unless you have the cash to waste like some of us do :toast:

meh, im thinking of finding a nice GTX280 to replace my card with

well i am, my 3850 is to slow, CnC3 only gets 67FPS maxxed out at 12x10 on my comp

With AA?
I only think of getting into better hardware to have a stable framerate with the highest level of AA possible.

8x AA and 16x AF

i have no idea why AF is in CnC though

He meant that One shader on ATI Cards = 5 Virtual shaders or something like that .
And where did he get that from?
Nvidia's stream core can handle 3 construction or flops per cycle,ATI's can handle 2 construction/cycle.
So,ATI's 4870 with 800 stream cores working at 750MHz can process 22% more constructions/cycle than nvidia's 280gtx with it's 240 cores at 1300MHz.And that's with 2.5x smaller die.

RTS utilize more CPU power, FPS rely more so on Graphics power.

whoa.... i cant imagine the panic at nvidia. Gonna wait for the 260 price to drop so i can gen my SLI system :p. good tho. thats what you get for milking a cow for too long. go amd.

hey everyone, check out the link below. Some one got a aquamark score up on HWbot.org.

Looks like the cards did very well compared to all. They were overclocked according to GPUz. What do you guys think????

woooow , impressive look for amd guys the do excellent work with crossfire , that mean you are not need to change you card every month when new games release just like nvidia card's , sorry for anyone who is like nvidia but this is the true numbers are talking

What are you talking about ?

COJ has always been an ATI game. Its one of the few games on which ATI worked with the developers and the result of which IS 2900xt performs better than 8800GTX .

No. Coj was a nvidia game, but coj dx10 patch was developed with ati/amd.

104%? I wonder how they managed that one..

What I'm saying is RV770 has actually 160 stream cores which function as 800 stream cores . So 160x5 = 800 stream cores .
