Kingston launch 1GB dimms with 2-2-2-5 timings

Kingston have been a little quite with there DDR1 HyperX range for quite a while now, but today's announcement brings that to an end! Kingston have announced some tasty new DDR400 modules with super fast 2-2-2-5 timings in 2x1GB configurations. This announcement means 2-2-2-5 timings are finally a reality with 2GB DDR kits (yeppie!).

Kingston have also launched some low latency DDR2 800MHz modules with 4-4-4-12 timings. All the specs and part numbers are below:

Kingston Ram is the best overclocking ram that I came across. My 2-2-2-5 1GB kit (512x2) was overclocked to 620MHZ @3.1v and 100% stable.

In my opinion, Kingston hasn't had anything worth mentioning in their lineup since they lost BH5. Their TCCD based sticks were generally nothing more then average, especially against what companies like OCZ and G.Skill were offering.

This new 2GB set intrigues me, I wonder what chips they use. I'd say Infineon, but they haven't been known to get lower than 2-3-2. So then I'd say Micron, but -5B F is a crap shoot for 2-2-2, and -5B D is only on the now discontinued 2GB Ballistix line from Crucial. So I'm confused.

not really, in the reviews of AM2 they compared ddr400 to the DDR2 memory.

The DDR400 is close, had they used the BEST DDR memory it would have killed the DDR2.

The best DDR2 (Micron D9 Fatty's) would smoke even BH5 at their record frequencies.

I bought some 2-3-2-5 1T sticks in august of last year, for not too much of a price premium.


Have been running 2-2-2-5 1T since on a bit over stock volts.

I think the memory uses Infineon BGA ICs.

anyone know how high these can overclock with 2-2-2-5 timings? I haven't seen one review for these yet.
