Today you can witness the birth of the already historical newcomer, XFX GeForce 6800XTreme AGP running at 350MHz for the GPU and 1000MHz for the 256MB DDR3. It is targeting to fill a gap in the AGP world where performance and friendly pricing become one. On top of that, the armour of the card has been forged in the unique Black Edition, making it the 'Wolf' in Sheep's clothing amongst the Mid-range AGP graphics arena.

By entering the battle field inside, it really shows its teeth. It tears any opponent into pieces by its strength and lures anybody who is amazed by its looks. The unique Black Edition gives graphics real charisma and makes the PC look great from the inside too. Perfect for transparent casing and case modders! Connecting two flat screens is no issue for the "Wolf" with its Dual DVI capability.

You'd better have him on your side. Performance, looks and connecting it to TWO Flat screens make sure you win the battle in style.

Again, XFX does not do empty promises; the product is available now in stores near you. Expect only a reasonable price for the 'Wolf' and check with the local preferred partners. The 'Wolf' is available for a mere price of only 189 €. For the most updated pricing, please check the local stores around you.

This is a 6800?

Quite an interesting PCB, isn't it the same one on the 7800GS AGP?

hehe, I have an old AGP system on my P4P800SE, might consider this if the price is low :rockout:

Will anyone actually buy this? for about £10 more you can get this:

Point Of View 7600GT 256mb DDR3 PCI-E

Is there really any competition?

"again XFX do not do empty promises" ?? well they certainly dont if they mean they sell older generation cards at a price that equals newer generation faster and better cards!

lol well spotted, am having a bad day! well this one is about 2/3rds of the price in the UK:

Sapphire Radeon X1600 PRO 256M DDR2 AGP VGA / TVO / DVI-I

and if you want to gor for a same generation but with better performance:

Gainward 6800GS 512mb GOLDEN SAMPLE DDR3 DVI AGP (about £15 more)

Hightech X850pro 256mb GDDR3 AGP VIVO DVI (£10 more)

However I am sure it will have some customers.....XFX have clearly identified the need!

The X1600PRO AGP is one badass card, my friend had it and the voltmods for the PCI-E X1300 HERE can be used on the same card. Clocked her up to 700 core and 465 mem.

I'm wondering how the 7800GS PCB and the DDR3 1000 will affect the 6800's performance, and is it unlockable..

Just reading a review on it, although to be fair, I am sure there is a gap somewhere there to be filled with a core of just 350Mhz and memory at 900Mhz it really does not seem that extreme to me when the gainward 6800GS I listed in previous post comes in at 450 and 1200!

I run my 6800 vanilla at 450/900

Unless this thing can overclock like the 6800GS, it's kind of a dumb idea.

The PCB is definatly different though.

8 pipes, 256MB GDDR3, 350MHz core/900MHz RAM... sounds exactly like the Inno3D 6800LE I purchased a short while back, which I flashed to a 6800GS. If this card is similar regarding the pipelines - or if it's unlockable to a 6800GT - then it might be a good buy for an older PC, otherwise, don't bother.

Tatty_One, would you mind posting a link to that review you read? Because I can't seem to get anything sensible out of Google.

Wow, 6800LE with GDDR3?

Does it overclock as good as the 6800GS??

Old thread I know, but I got here looking to find naked images of the 6800, ROFL! I have it and I can account for it's performance as of date of post--it is a good card.
