Head-Direct's HiFiMAN RE252 in-ears boast a new type of shell made from soft silicone. These in-ears aim to provide you with audiophile quality sound without ruining your ears. We put the $200 earphones to the test to see if the design can hold its own.

And I just got my RE0's broken in proerly, dangit. lol. So these new ones are more accurate than the RE0's? Should I be setting my sights on these to replace mine, or are the RE0's close enough to warrant keeping them?

I have noticed that while the RE0's don't have a lot of bass out of the box, they do handle lows very well, and are nice and tight if you boost the bass. Are these the same as well?

To put it in perspective, the only thing I adjust on the RE0's is a boost in bass. Everything else is flat.

Well the RE0s are still among the earphones I use regularly even though I have the RE252s. The RE252s are just a little more refined than the RE0 with a few noteworthy improvements. If you like the fit and the sound of the RE0s the RE252s will probably be a good upgrade path. They do have a little more bass, but it is still not overwhelming.
