Westone's top of the line custom in-ears are put to the test. The ES5s feature five drivers per side and are available in a set of radical color schemes for the fashion conscious audiophiles out there. The starting price is a hefty $950 which makes them the second most expensive earphones we have every reviewed.

Nice review. You should take a look at the ACS T1 custom in ears. Again around the $1000 mark. Only 3 drivers but a very nice sound. Seems very balanced but is very capable of BASS!

I got a set for demoing to clients ;) and am mighty impressed with them while playing BC2...

Who would spend 950 dollars for in-ears :S

agreed only benefit over full size is portability but you'd be mad to walk around with $1000 headphones and not expect them to get lost or stolen

Go to Head-fi.org. Also, there are a lot of people working in the music industry who would appreciate them. For me, the cut off mark is about £50, any more and I think the money will not be well spent.

I do not get it - why so expensive??
It is almost like getting a pair of Piano Diacera, looks good, sounds good - but the price..

Wtf 950 usd ....

how would this (ES5) compare to JH13 and JH16?
