kinda currious as to what is better 1440@7,8,7,24 or 1780@9,8,9,24? Right now Iam at the 1440-7,8,7,24 but if i wanted to get up into the 1700 I need to loosen them up alot. so iam wondering what is my best choice?

i say try and get 1600 8-8-8-24 right in the middle but i think more things are effected with lower latency

only thing is were Iam on my o/c on cpu I realy have two choices for raM speed, What Iam at now wich is 1440, then when i switch to next strap it jumps my ram speed into 1780. It would be different if i had no o/c on cpu. then i could run ram at 1600, when i checked with g.skill they said that that ram will run up too 1800 but will need to loosen to 9 etc.
I will run everest mem benchat both to see wich gives the better results

Typically with Intel chipsets, speed trumps latencies.

so what your saying that it would be better to run it at 1780 with cl9..correct?

Run Vantage at both settings and see what score and how much higher the points are.

That will show you how much faster its running.

Everest works great too.

On 775 latency doesn't really matter but in synthetics. What's important on a FSB system is the tRD.

so your saying the timings are most important? or speed?

On 775, the timing of the NB chip (tRD is what I think it is called) is the most important to performance. Its kind of like the CAS timing of the NB chip.

When it comes to memory, speed is more important that timings. Though, You're really limited by the FSB so I really doubt there is any tangible difference between the two settings you've listed given they are the only ones changing. If one allows you to run a tighter tRD(?) then that is the one that will allow a tangible difference in everything.
