The Thermalright Ultra 90 is a solid performing air cooler with six heatpipes to keep your CPU temperature down. Its unique design allows you to use your own 92mm fan for fine tuning of heat vs. fan noise. A competitive price of 25 USD makes this cooler even more attractive, and if you need more cooling power you can just get the 120mm Ultra 120.

Nice review, one question tho is 1.6v really necessary to get that CPU to 2.4 ghz. I don't think i've seen many 3000+ cpu's requiring that much voltage for a modest overclock like that. Those load temps are kinda scary cause of that Vcore.

Also would u considering this cooler better than a XP90. or the Zalman 9500LED

cpu does it on stock, 1.6v to get the right heat output .. the more voltage, the more heat

While the upright style coolers are all the rage, I prefer the XP-90/90C as it seems to deliver the best performance and reduces the stress on the mobo that the upright coolers impart.

To use the XP-90 on an AM2 mobo you need the the Thermalright AM2 RM Rev. B available from the Thermalright website.

Great review by the way.

Nice review. I wonder how big the difference is between the 92mm version and the 120mm version.

2.4Ghz on stock! :twitch:

(On page 4 - In the table under the "Performance" heading, the CPU is labelled as 1mb. Venice is 512KB. Sorry to pick out such a small detail, but still.)

That thing sucks. I still have my factory cooler and I have adjust its fan's speed so now I have 32c idle and 45c load. My processor isn't overclocked(yet) but can beat the temperatures of that thing.

Anyone think it's possible to hook up a Delta 120x120x38mm to this Ultra-90 with ease?
