Gigabyte rolled out the GR-EZI14H 4-bay home/SMB NAS server. Almost identical to the GR-EZI04H, launched back in December, 2012; the GR-EZI14H ships with Microsoft Windows Home Server 2011, instead of the custom Linux-based NAS operating system of its older twin. Naturally then, it could come at a small premium.

The GR-EZI14H features a common desktop form-factor measuring 220 x 183.5 x 146.5 mm, with four 3.5-inch SATA drive caddies covered by a common lockable door. Under its hood is an Intel Atom D2500 processor clocked at 1.80 GHz, wired to Intel ICH10R southbridge, which supports up to six SATA 3 Gb/s ports, with RAID 0/1/0+1, 2 GB of DDR3 RAM, and a USB DOM holding the operating system. Connectivity includes two gigabit Ethernet interfaces, two each of USB 3.0, USB 2.0/1.1; and a VGA display output.

Looks pretty feature rich, priceing would be nice.
 
Home server 2011 does not support spanning across drives. They took it out. Also does not have native 64bit support for larger drives, did they fix that or are 2tb the limit? Next is backup, you can only back up using home server 2011 to one drive mirrored, was that addressed? So 2tb volumes is it per drive.

Didn't they add something else that was similar though? Or was that me dreaming?

EDIT: No I think that was a dream.

EDIT again: Windows 8 has a similar feature though, Storage Spaces. I think that was what I was thinking about about.

There are bolt on programs you can buy that support this. The issue is MS killed home server. The first one was awesome, I still use my HP server. But they took to many really usable functions out.
I bought a Synology 8 bay server that fixes all these issues and they work. Might be a little more spendy, but it worked out of the box with ZERO issues or workarounds.
I was also able to mix drives, can't really do that with the new Home server 2011.
