(Update: Apparently, this isn't an EVGA-exclusive campaign; as it has been noted in the comments, NVIDIA themselves have launched a page with this same promotion and conditions for the free copy of Monster Hunter: World. It appears EVGA just added its own branding to an NVIDIA and partner-wide promotion).

EVGA has just announced a promotion where users that buy qualifying 10-series NVIDIA graphics cards (EVGA GeForce GTX 1070 Ti, 1070, or 1060 6 GB) can get a digital copy of Monster Hunter: World for free. Monster Hunter: World released to critical and consumer acclaim not that many months ago, and was received quite well in our own performance review. The game doesn't incorporate any of the 20-series exclusive RTX graphics effects and raytracing processing, so an offering with the 10-series cards isn't a bad deal - especially as it's likely to help move volume of the previous-gen cards quicker along EVGA's warehouses.

Good luck to you guys playing this on less than a 1080. Make sure to make it look like Minecraft.

As an end user, this isn't very enticing to me for upgrading.

When there is already a 20xx series out and I need to upgrade, if my upgrade opts for the 10xx series, I would definitely want a 1080 or 1080 Ti card else I'm just going to the 20xx series.

That is why you get a free game... :p You're actually bang on the money there with that thought.

I bought a 1080 vanilla off there site, had a free game promotion(reason I bought the card), never got the game no mention of it...

Nope is not true at all , the most demanding graphic option that eat framerate and seems useless is volumetric rendering.
I playt the game at 4k and looks great.

Capitan Harlock, it's been known for a long time this game runs like crap on high end PCs, on lesser cards like a 1060 would be a joke. I played the game at 4k as well and it definitely isn't that smooth to say the least. You probably don't notice all the frames you drop.

If you decide what is needed and what not in the graphics settings the game runs all right.
Of course they should fix and need more driver optimization but runs all right.
On pc your are suppose to mix up settings not using noob presents and than complain.
