With the M4, Xtrfy joins the recent lightweight gaming mouse craze. Bringing a PixArt PMW3389, a weight of 69g, and full RGB capabilities to the table, the M4 should be worth a look for anyone who's in the market for a right-handed ergonomic gaming mouse.

I dont like the recent trend of removing material from the plastic parts to make the mouse lighter. I understand it, but i dont like it. Looks like it has been eaten by.. real mice.

Copycat much... lol I believe Glorious PC Gaming started this trend... not a fan of the holes myself.
I do believe it was finalmouse that started it, the model O was definitely not the first. Finalmouse had the UL and the UL pro, and the air58

I don't understand how in this time and age (and such competition!) a mouse can get an award with absolutely no customization available. That defies the purpose of so called gaming mouse, doesn't it?

Also where are any large mice like Roccat Kone XTD/EMP? There aren't just midgets out there.

There is customization, it's all on-board. No need for any software by the looks of it.

If you can't map keys to the buttons, there is virtually no useful customization at all.

I understand how that would be useful in certain situations, but I would rather do button/function mapping in-game rather than utilize a 3rd party utility.

It would be great if manufacturers would just provide portable software for initial configuration of their mice and keyboard (for DPI settings, LOD sensitivity, etc.) and store the profiles in the mice. You would then delete the software afterwards.

One server broke, I fixed it, updated Linux software on all boxes while I was at it, then updated forums software and updated our composer packages, which ran into an unexpected issue with a package upgrade.

Pics on this review was an issue with how the reviewer named his images.

Just a lot of admin work today, appreciate your patience and understanding

Did you do a complete dissasemble? You looked at the PCB, but how are the plastic clips holding the clickers and everything? I like to completely dissasemble my mice from time to time and wash all the bits. Which brings me to this question: can the coating be washed properly? I actually like the concept of these things (the holes) but as said, cleaning them will be important, and if I can't clean all the plastic with a brush I'm just not interested in this design.

I wish all these new swiss-cheese mice would come with an internal, quick-replace fan option (like how some GPU fans can be quick-replaced) similar to the cheap generic chinese USB mice from a few years back. I know of a few people with extremely sweaty palms that could use a vented mouse with a simple fan, and were also loyal users of the AirFlo controllers from Nyko awhile back.

Throw in a quality keyboard with built-in airflow channels and a fan to properly cool their hands, and I'd have the perfect upgrade gift set for them this Christmas.

I'm not entirely sure if I understand your question correctly. Would you like to know whether it's possibly to disassemble the top shell any further? To be perfectly honest, I can't remember entirely, but I think it should be possible to disassemble the button pieces at least, as they were merely clipped in from what I remember. As for the coating, I didn't try washing it, but it's definitely of the more resilient kind. The brush treatment at least should not damage it in any way. Please let me know if you still have any questions.

I want to scrub it with a scrubbing brush, soap and water.

Finally ordered me this . Had tried the flaky Ventus from TT then Dremel drilled my Razer Death Adder which was fine until it died. Not for weight reduction but for hot hands. Being that this is the only mouse where polling is on the bottom which is why I stuck with my Zowie EC2B so long. Like many gamers I love a minimalist mouse. Ran a fan on it to keep hands cool which kind of works... might drill the Zowie after this for fun.
