1st Player Steampunk PS-750SP 750 W

Thank you for the review.

seems a bit high price for a less then average PSU. Not saying it was a total failure, but definitely not a first choice PSU. Seems more suited for a mass produced case builder

the name itself didnt represent anything othe than randomnes, i tho it was steampunk in any form, which is...

Thanks for the review.
I wish they'd be more judicious with the names they pick because there's nothing steampunkish about this product's aesthetics.
In fact, I wonder how one would design a PSU that could fit into the Steampunk visual traits. Without going overboard that is.

that would be great, personally im quite steampunk goods enthusiast

Well that was not that bad. Waited it failing bad on EMI tests, but it actually fared them very well. Some negatives can be ironed out with soldering iron and that fan must be replaced too with some 14cm FDB fan. Platform itself sounds quite decent, minus those minor rails.

Are they gonna honor their warranty? I‘d think that quite a few of these will fail before long.
In the end, this thing has too many significant flaws to be recommended, even at way less than 90 bucks.

Looks like a good OEM working to a cheap design. Hopefully there will be other PSUs this OEM makes with good design, build-quality, and soldering - but will just not cut the corners with the secondary caps or cheap sleeve fan.

Well its sorta punk, or kinda ghetto. :D At least something.

I wouldnt hold YL fan against them. Those in my PC are running for over decade now.. So unless YL quality went sideways.

This PSU looks more Steampunkish

with it's aircraft type cable plugs than that of the PSU reviewed

but thanks for the review

"Steam Punk" is a type of design description, with the use of old brass and or copper pipe fitting/s hardware. This company is dumb in my opinion when it comes to marketing

I OWNED one of those. Loved the look and design, I sold it over 10 years ago in an old system. Its sold old now, and so am I that I cant recall the brand, do you? What brand name was it?

It is the Hiper Type R 580W I had the 520W version and found the connectors great

As it stands I think this platform would be competitive if it wasn't using bottom-tier components. If they can fix the minor rails' ripple and holdup time, this design might even be able to compete at the higher end, which would be better in terms of margins.

non-mainstream psu brand in china, and nobody with a good budget and clear mind would like to buy this brand's product.
